What are your thoughts on real electric drag cars ? Some may see this as the way of the future; but to me it would mean the demise of drag racing entirely. No more thunderous engine sounds ! No more toxic nitrous oxide fumes to choke on ! It would be drag racing heresy !

I've been into drag racing since to 1966 . It's the rattle of the engines idling and the thunderous roar they make when REVVVVVVVED that keeps me going . These days , I only race the 1/24th scale cars and recently jumped in on the 1/43rd scale group .
I see the 1/oneth electric cars coming in the NOT SO distant future . Garlitt's already has a prototype built making exhibition runs . There are numerous other experimentals out there as well .
With technology and ways to go green , it's the wave of the future .
I'm set in my ways and don't like the idea . I hate change ! But >>>> Electric Racing is coming .

You're right Tom, change will come like it or not. But I'm set in my ways as well; and will leave electric drag racing strictly for HO. The 60's era stuff is much more to my liking than the cars they run today anyway. Back then cars had real style; and stood out from one another. Today to many of the cars all look alike. And it's almost 2015 and none of the cars look anything like the cars of the future we were promised in the magazines and media when we were kids. Not only can they " NOT FLY " ; they don't even look like they could get off the ground ! LOL ....Terry
