Received some of the new Viper chassis yesterday. Looks very similar to the BSRT chassis with a few differences. The axle pin holes, which are a pain to drill, are already there. The body mount bosses are already there which you pay extra for on the BSRT. There is a small guard in front of the pickups which might help if the car hits something. Anybody know where the timing ring goes, looks like it would have to go into the front of the timing ring.

Dave. The timing ring goes over the front nose of the end bell. The optional plastic ring allows the racer to adjust how much tension is applied to the end bell/timing bracket. Some like it tight, some like it loose. The end bell 'bunny ears' if bent correctly apply a fair amount of tension. But that tension can go away over time. The ring is constant tension. It's just an additional tool that allows the pro racer to fine tune the car with. Here is an auction with pics. www.ebay.com/itm/Viper-Scale-Racing-V1-Pro-HO-Racing-Chassis-Tomy-SG-bsrt-wizzard-slottech-/400831152191

Thanks for clearing that up. I am not going to install it at this time but will keep it in mind for the future.

I have dealt with them in the past and have had no problems. I put one of the chassis together using BSRT parts, all fit well. Viper chassis and level 10 magnets all around. I only had a stock 6 ohm unbalanced armature to put in it for testing. It performed surprisingly well. Started out running .6277 and after about 8 passes it had run a best of .5893. I will use it's speed for my next game pass. One of the magnets is dragging slightly so I may have to install slightly bigger tires.

Thanks for the info on the E bay photo. The armature I put in the Viper started to throw a wind so I did not use it for the Outlaw game. I have epoxied it and will probably use it in a future game.

Throwing winds on inline......... starting to scare me , what did I get myself involved in........ hehehe. Dave , hope that wasn't a new one you just got. Did you try to balance the epoxy ? When I do winds with stacks full of wire. After testing I put a couple of drops of a thin CA on each end of wire on stacks. If thats a new Wiz or Bsrt , I would contact co. ...... see what they say. It's not like you ran it for 20 mins. I'd be a little upset if I just spent 40 or 50 greenies and that happened. ......... Peter

No it was an armature from the junk box. I have not hurt any armatures at 20 volts inline or pancake after many passes, and some of them are screaming. Have no idea where that test arm came from. I did not balance it just put a small dab of epoxy on the loose wind and it held. It has since ran an ET of .5526 which kills any other stock car I have. Level 10 magnets do make a difference in ET and it has an .0493 60' which is very good. It will now be the next game car, the ET might not help with the mph guess that much. As a side note the 69 Mustang I ran as the first game car has just run 16.88mph which is nuts for a T jet with a stock 16 ohm arm at 20v.
