Well my excitement when i got the box on wednesday has been tempered. Because the dragtracks system has some bugs to work out. The first one being reliability. Our gang started the new drag racing season this week and all of us were really looking forward to this new system giving us elasped times so we could qualify the cars. Well that ran into a snag because even thought the digital readout had 4 decimal points the system only does tenths of a second. We worked around that but then the sensors started acting up and one lane woulndnt give a reading or the finish line stopped registering who won. So we needed a guy at the finish to validate winners. Im hoping that this thing just needs calibration and sturdy mounting to elleviate the problems. But theres no fixing the timer which is a real bummer, as close as our races are hundreths and thousanths would make the system way better. Anyone else get one of these yet?

As far as the sensor working properly I would suggest more light on it. My system has to have intense light or it will not function. I was worried about such a system designed by those who really have no idea what slot car racing is about. Not having at least hundreds in the system makes it useless for what we do. I have had countless races decided in the hundredths and many in the thousands. That system is pretty much useless for our type racing. I would look to Slot dragon for a reasonably priced system that works well and times to the hundredth. The sensors are easy to install so you do not need to buy the additional track with the sensors installed.

Thanks for review, Steve. For those considering DragTracks as an option, here is review from another network. DragTracks Review

Why in the world would you design a system to time red lights to the thousandth and not the ET. Once again by those who don't understand. System seems like it does not work to well with different cars. Having to put big stickers on top of the cars is not the best setup. If this system is all you can afford I would say it is better than nothing but I personally would not buy it and surely go with the much better Slot Dragon. With some of my cars a tenth of a second is about a difference of 15-20 carlengths.

Maybe you will get better results but what could you do about the timer only going to tenths.
