For the brackets I think setting the car with one suggested ET might not be the best way although one of those cars did make the final. I went with what dial in I was given and when the car performed better I left the time alone. Eagle had the better idea he said to take 3% off his last time which gave him some leeway if the car ran better. That worked all but one time for him but his opponent broke out in that race too. The Jegs car, Mike11142 was by far the most consistent of the day. Reaction times were a factor at times and the cars themselves had a lot to do with that. Some of the slower cars would react slower giving the faster cars the edge. Strong traction magnets were a factor there. We did some practicing with some of our cars and we noticed our reaction times varied quite a bit depending on which car was used. With the .100 delay and the blinder on the tree there were no red lights at all which in my opinion is how it should be in at ALL Proxy races since the car builder is not present to drive the car.. Having somebody else RED light your car is totally unfair since you have no control over that. Dumb luck should not be a factor. That is my opinion and I will post another thread on that subject. We also had several practice session so our tree response would be fairly good. When we ran the same car over and over in practice our times were all within a few hundredths of each other. This in my opinion was about as fair as we could make it for the brackets. For the heads up an instant start button was used simultaneously for both lanes, once again no red lights allowing the car performance to determine who wins.

I did some bracket racing last weekend at Bloom Hobbies. The inline cars are very consistent, much more so than any of the pancake cars we ran. My tjets would drop the ET by a few hundredths then slow down again, over and over. Thee guys who race there a lot seem to like the inlines because of this. I want to set up a Tyco 440 with braids and decent tires, then run it about 15 times on a tech and tune day to see how it works out. It sure is fun.

Actually at our bracket race an AFX style car with 2 traction magnets was the most consistent, and also the slowest car in the bracket race. It ran withing a few hundredths difference every run. For some reason it decided to break out in the final by just a fraction more than the other car. Very close race however. Bracket racing is a lot of fun when you are doing it but watching full size brackets is not my cup of tea.
