Here is an armature balancer I picked up on E bay for 20.00. It is nicely made. Design is the standard razor blade type with a couple of adjustors and a level. Made of steel it works nicely. The two strips on the right are covers for the blades.

So that's where the idea came from!
I had never seen or heard of one before this.
Great tool for static balancing armatures.
The jewelers poise has a movable jaw for different
size armatures.
