Was looking at schedule which lead to rules. Thought this might go in tip section. But looking there found nothing listed for X - tracs or AF/X. Maybe somebody could start a tip thread for the X cars.
X3 rules allow 5ohm/poly mags........... From what I see NO TRACTION MAGS ALLOWED. The NTRA allows t/mags in every other class that uses poly mtr mags. Every class that uses 5ohm arms. All the 14ohm classes. Maybe even a 16ohm class. I'm not sure how to approach the X3....... anybody put wheelie bars on X car ? This is going to be an interesting build.

Peter Kind of strange that no traction magnets are allowed since they come with them on the X trac cars? Cost cant be a factor since those things cost pennies. I have put wheelie bars on the AFX cars and they are effective.

What's the voltage for these classes? 1X and 2X is 13.6, I'm not sure about 3X but at 13.6 volts a traction magnet would probably cause more drag and slow cars down. Just saying

Just saying Two different events in March & April will host all three classes. Two different RM's. Who knows ? RM's choice. We definitely need to talk about voltages after race......... Put X3 together yesterday, no tunning just parts. Hint of trigger pulls wheels at 13v. Tom, I'm curious when we run N/fc or econo dragsters at 13v do you remove both t/mags ? I've always left one in. .......... Peter

Winter Nationals will run stock Tjet (TJ1) @ 13.8v, Pro Street (X2) @ 18v, N/TF (4G5) @ 26v, and PS bike will run at 22v. These are the same voltages that I have always run these classes at. I will repost on race thread when the time comes.

Have all three builds parted together now. Found another chassis, that makes 5. I'm catching up to you guys....... lol. Bodies almost done for all.
Tip maybe ? While putting X3 together had problems with clearance for arm. Plate clip cause everything to bind. Removed ring from underside of plate. But still had to open top of shaft hole in chassis floor to get enough space. Reminded me of same problems with 4g chassis. But none of those were as tight, they would at least run. Did not have problem with X2 build. Since both arms are from same mfg. My guess (did not measure) is that retainig rings on shaft are different thicknesses. Be aware if doing X2 or 3 builds for March & April events. Often with 4g's a round wear spot would apear between brush pockets.
