Has anyone done any gear ratio changing on the aurora 4 gear or AW 4 gear chassis. Getting rid of the 9 tooth pinion gear and using a 12 or 15 tooth replacement. I would think a 12 tooth would be easiest all you should have to do is find another smaller large idle gear and relocate the pin. I came across an article a year or 2 ago but can’t find it. Does anyone know where you could find the proper size idle gear.

There are some posts in the N\TF thread directly under this thread on the 4g subject page that address that modification. Also more gear stuff I think under General Topics in the FED fun thread. More 4g mod stuff under Ho drag racing clubs / Bear Creek Dragway and Blacktop Raceway threads. I think the suppliers that might have some various gears would be RT-HO, Wizzard, Lucky Bobs, Jag Hobbies. Slim pickins to choose from for the 4 gear though. Most everything will need modification of some sort.

Might be in same thread......... pics by SKR, probably already have parts. Use pinion and idler from t-jet. Idler post is removed and relocated. Greatly frees gears on concave plate.
