Just bought 12 new 4 gear chassis and top plates so I can work on redesigning them. This will be a challenge. Trying to make a race car out of a tin can.

Stop whining already, everyone who runs this class started out with nothing to go by they just tried to win. You have the advantage by seeing the ideas that already have been proven to work so far. Like jjwallace said if you can't make the March event that's fine, we will be running them again in June at the SUMMER NATIONALS. Or you can choose to not build one at all.

Lol....... whinning ?
Looks like Dave, issued a legitimate challenge....... even though he already accepted the preposterous challenge given to him. Hmmmm will it have any takers ? Be a race I'd like to see.
It is commendable what has been done with 4g's. I understand why people that have invested time, energy and money doing so. Do not like negative implications of 4g. But I also understand why there will always be those who do not like 4g. Its certainly understandable just from a mechanical stamdpoint. What I don't understand is why people get so defensive about 4g. A playground was chosen where only a few like the equipment. That will never change.

You know Peter as for me I have no desire to take a challenge like that. As I said in another post.....we don't race them against each other. Not going to start now. I am more concerned about heads up against the same chassis...same build. 3g is better than 4g when it comes to performance......less friction. No rocket science there. As far as people getting defensive....well 4g isn't my favorite chassis but I just feel it's disrespectful to continuously dog out the chassis. If I was to have come on the forum and start talking crap about Tjets....what would have happened. I can only imagine. That would have ruffled many feathers. That's all I'm saying. Like Mom always said.....If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all.

There are many chassis I can not get to run fast no matter what I do. That does not discourage me from entering the class.Hell I built my M/M pro stock from the parts list from the threads on this forum and I still can't get it in the .400 ET. I love to drag race. Period. That's what we all have in common on this forum.I grew up in a Mopar family and had a couple Dodge Challengers, but I am a die hard Chevy man. I do not like Fords but I keep that to myself. My two cents. As I said in another post there will always be some one faster than you in any form of racing.

Nobody stays at the top of any racing format for too long. There is always somebody faster out there eventually or on a given day. Personally I have always raced a Chevy, but I like all the American cars, GM, Ford, Chrysler. The Asian cars I despise. I would always challenge those guys to some kind of handicap race and never once was it accepted. I have been drag racing full size cars since I was a teenager and that was a long time ago. Been down the drag strip over a 1000 times with varying results. My best season was back in 02 when I ran the Pro Mod series at Sunshine dragstrip in Fla. Won 2 events runner up in 2 and semis in all the others. This was a heads up series and you had to qualify to get into the 8 car field.
