Hey all,
Can anyone give me a source and part number for a suitable foam for making Tjet tires for drag and road course racing? I want to make my own tires for my own use, not selling any.
I need foam for skinny tires, like the slip on tires for stock tjets. Aurora used to have a foam tire like this on their Wild Ones series of cars. Any info greatly appreciated.
Also, can anyone name a source or supply me with a decent comm plate for winding a few tjet arms? It seems every dead arm that I check has burned spots between the copper on the comm plate, just not suitable for making a good motor.
Thanks to all.
Jess

This might be a dumb suggestion but I just noticed some foam that might be good in my kids room its those big foam puzzles from WalMart with letters cut out of them there all different colors about a inch thick. I really dont know if it will work just a suggestion.

Lewis, Try Hobby Lobby if you have near you. I get large sheets of foam there and in different colors. From black to vivid pink!
They also have different thickness too!
I have been using the black with good results for my tires.

I would think so Peter. I have never tried it but its cheap enough to try. It will not break the bank!

jess, look carefully at cell size and feel density. many packing and craft foams are large cell.

Thanks Al. I am thinking Graingers or McMasters, they have a lot of foams, but I dont know which one to try. I know some are using these companies, but dont know the part numbers.
