Many of the rule changes that were released in the 2015 Contemporary Rules are untested. With the running of the Winter National event it seems (to me) that the problem of de-slotting needed to be addressed. The changes made to the X2 and X3 builds simply allows options to combat the problem. Because something is listed among the rules, racers are not obligated utilize all that is listed, however must stay within the allowable limitations. If your car made good time and without problems then you have the option to run your car as you did for Winter National. Else, if you had a car that was problematic you may want to consider one of the newly introduced options. That is the case for X2. X3 option is introduced as a proactive adjustment to avoid same problem. As in X2 you are not obligated to utilize these options.
Note - Rule changes made to directory prior to posting announcement.

Since you bring it up........ the whining on this site about.proposed rule changes or questioning of the rules.comes from the same people for years now ! God forbid a change before a race !
FLIP - FLOP
Just as it did a couple of months ago...... when all that was asked was IF a rule had been omitted.
FLIP - FLOP ...........
And here we go again.......... same cast of characters.

Glad to see the OPTION is there. Up to the builder as to what to use keeping in mind the different tracks that we run at. Jeff experienced some issues on his track which I believe is AW or Tomy/AFX type track. The next event will be with the X1 and X3 builds and will be on a TKO continuous rail and different surface. We shall see how that plays out in April! Yes we all know what a superior surface the TKO track with double rail start and finish line is to a sectioned track as has been pointed out numerous times in the past. We will see how that plays out at Maple Groove where the traction will be so much better. Always got to get your jabs in there.

Nope....you got it all wrong. Glad you like instigator title because you've earned it Peter. Any issues on the forum and you're usually right in the middle of it. Same couple of people. Phantom said it best with his first post on this. This was a rule change for the better...hands down!! Rather than say good idea as others have said, you guys are upset because you didn't get to argue about it. It is still one month before Alan's event....plenty of time for racers to make necessary adjustments. Nothing to discuss. This crap is killing the forum. We are about to lose our core group because of it. Everything doesn't have to be a controversy. Sometimes a "hey good idea" or "glad we did that" might be better.

Yep., right in the middle.again of the same.peolpe. That love controversy. Phantom said it best ? If Phantom said nothing, a question was asked and Cordell's answer would have been the end. That simple ! Agreed the change is for the better. Who's "you guys". And Jeff really, your the first.person to complain about any proposed change. Before end of season &.ESPECIALLY before an upcoming race. The only arguing going on is by those not getting away with feeding everyone a line of bull at someone else's expense. Anything from the peanut gallery ? I'm done.....

Peter all I did is make a recommendation. Everything else is an observation of what is going on and has gone on. You can choose to acknowledge it or ignore it. As far as the forum goes....my comments are accurate. Like it or not......and I don't.
Alan that is a typical single me out....condescending....miss the point response......as usual.
Im done here as well!

O.K., I have a question what other options can somebody come up with to satisfy the masses? I personally would've been pissed if after all my testing both cars deslotted. My two cars were about even on my track at the 15 ft mark. Would turning down the power have satisfied everybody and perhaps that wasn't an option to go to 13.8 or so. Look I should be crying I have to build two more cars but I welcome the challenge to duplicate my success on a different track and a different chassis set up. Don't make perfect the enemy of good. It seems to me that everything is a work in progress or should be viewed as such. I'm just wondering if anybody feels he/she has a disadvantage due to the rule change?

People remember just like 1 to 1 real racing EVERY track surface is different. That is racing. All my cars perform differently with the same set up at individual tracks. Some times they are faster. Some times they are slower. Learn from past practice and improve on what you have learned. Changing or having a set voltage is a possibility. But once again every surface is different. Suggestion are just that.Suggestions.Not requests. Race on people.

Adding traction magnets to the cars makes a lot of sense in most classes. All the X classis should allow them since the newer cars come with them stock. Why should you have to pull magnets out of the cars that come with them. I had to add a bunch of nose weight to the cars for the last race to keep them in the groove and they still would occasionally deslot. Noticed they have been added to X3 where they were not allowed before. Very good move in my opinion. You can buy traction magnets very cheap on E bay, 100 1x5mm neos for less than 5.00. Even on my track I tend to get some deslots without them. Only the dead stock cars should have to run what they came with.
