Here are the pictures of the Grandstands that I built with Alan's supports. Used 1/4" strips of wood and a larger piece for the base and back support. 100 Seated fans were purchased on E bay for 10.00, various wood pieces and parts cost about 20.00. Alan donated the supports, thanks again Alan.

To me it looks a lot better than the Flat paper items you can buy and the cost is only slightly higher. Took about 4 hours to build. The paper stuff took about 1/2 that but the difference in appearance is big.

VERY nice Dave!
Let me know if you ever want to extend them to seat more fans!

Thanks for the compliments guys. It really was not much harder to build than the paper variety, especially if you build a wooden frame for the paper ones like I did. Now if I can just get the admission fee from all those spectators all will be well.

Dave if you get another set i know a wood weathering trick that could make your stands look more realistic.
All you need is an old bowl, vinegar and a piece of steel wool.
Set the steel wool in the bowl with vinegar for a couple of days the vinegar will help quicken the rust process... once rusty, get the steel wool a little damp and spread the rust on, use this technique like a stain... wipe off with a cloth and if not dark enough do it again.
Just a cool weathering idea for you guys who love realism.

Thanks for the tip. Some of the actual stands we sat on when watching full size racing looked like they came from a 100 year old barn.

Yep the vinegar will yellow the wood and the rust highlights the grain. Really cool effect, makes wood look alot older than it really is.
Ive also sat on some bleachers that seemed 200 years old lol. Life wouldnt be as fun if it wasnt questionable at times...
