A black 67 Camaro T jet just sold on E bay for $406.00.
What in the world? It had 36 bids on it. My son was going to bid on it for me as he just bought one of those bodies for himself for 12.00 and I said I would like one since I had the real thing in the past. We watched as the thing went absolutely crazy. I was willing to bid all the way to 25.00 for it....... Boy was I off. I could buy 4 BSRT cars for that.

Must have been one collector's were drooling over........ and might just spend the rest of it's days on a shelf.

I read some where that Aurora did not waste any plastics it used for it models. Any left over plastic was used for their slot cars. Some of the rarest colors are Black,Pink,Orange Lime Green,Olive Drab,Slate Gray for starters. If your son bought a 67 Camaro for $12.00 it is most likely to be a Model Motoring replica. Or he got real lucky. Check the inside of the body for any identifying marks.I sent you a PM to a link for bodys. Oh one more thing. Here is a good site for some quality replacement parts. www.modelmho.com/access.html

The one he got appears to be one from the 90s when it was remade. It looks better than the original but "collectors" are not looking for better looks they are a strange breed in my opinion. Thanks for the site I will check it out. Dave

Your son may still have gotten a deal even the black model Motoring cars can be sought after, I saw a black 55 Chevy that MM made sell for over $100 on eBay. Sometimes it's as simple as 2 guys that really want a car you don't see often go up for auction.
The Dog was at a show some 10 years back and watched someone pay over $1200 for an Aurora 69 Charger in a color combo he didn't have yet. There are more than a few out there looking for their "golden fleece" and will pay for it. Go figure

Guess I should quit sending mine to races. I knew the original Aurora's were worth quite a bit, but I didn't think the MM's were. Heck, at $12, I've more than tripled my "investment"!

Come to think of it, I've got a black '55 too! But it's one of the flamed ones.

In the past I sold one of the Super IIs for $250, the Lexan body shell was broken at the mount point or it would have gone for more. A Blue Dodge Charger for $78, A Blue Cuda Funny car for $175. This made little sense to me but I remodeled 2 of the bathrooms in my house with some of the money I made selling many of the older cars I had. I could care less that they were rare. I kept any I liked however.

Al that is a resin car Phil from Road Race Replicas did when he first went into business. It was a limited run of 50 or 100 cars don't remember. they went for $55 new, everyone that saw one wanted one till the last one sold at auction for $400. they used to sell regularly for over $200 on eBay. The Dog was there in the beginning, and still has the #4 (you can see this one is the number 28 in the last photo) 37 Ford in his display case, to me it holds up even today as something I won't sell
