blowing up arms I AW cars

I've had several in my 4gear cars, pretty dang frustrating. You can always tell when their going south and with aw arms there's no saving them.

Don't remember blowing any Aurora arms. Or maybe the frequency of AW arms going south the past few years has made me forget. Have one new ohm readings from 15.5 to 50.5. Several have shorted between plates. One almost.brand new, maybe 5 mins on arm. Thought brushes may have been soft (bad batch). But ran same brushes again for an hour non stop (break in sort of). Saw no signs of any problems. Could be combination of both brush and edges of comm plates being sharp. That caused build up between plates and short. Has happened several times that comm short's from build up.

Never checked all the arms that went bad but seems as if comm plate on the one that was new ate up brushes.

Duh....... just dawned on me. Never checked pitch on brushes. Or if leading edge (in relation to comm rotation) was to high causing undo wear.

Now there is a man who is telling the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
