Can I get Funny Car and Pro Stock bodies like they run in the NHRA in the present? Also what chassis will they fit. Does anyone make the decals for the present funny car and pro stock cars? I appreciate any help. Thanks, Joe

Take a look at Auto Worlds site or ebay for Auto World cars. They have modern P/S, F/C and T/F bodies mounted on 4G chassis. The chassis need a little work to make consistent and can run pretty good with a little work. Also just a warning, they look a little like swamp buggies but with a little nip and tuck of the wheels and tires... they look good slammed. Take a look in the tech tip section towards the bottom of the home page.
Decals are hard to come by. Google Pattos Place and look under the D's for Drag Racing decals.

Thanks for the info. I was looking to get plain bodies and had hoped that I could get decals to finish them. Joe

I wrote an email to slixx in hopes of getting some response about decals in HO scale and got nothing. Here's what I wrote.
Hi Becky,
I’m petitioning you with hopes that your company can make this possible. I drag race HO slot cars, I don’t need to remind you of how little there is out there for our hobby in the way of modern or for that matter nostalgia decals. Your company is the leader in hobby decals and I’m begging you to PLEASE make your modern sponsorship decals available in 1/64 for that market. I don’t know if you’ve done any research in this area but there are a lot of potential customers like me that would snap up anything new in our favorite scale. Since Auto world began making NHRA cars available the need for decals has skyrocketed and guys like me have been scrambling to make different liveries. So that when we have races not everyone has the same cars. Also there’s the fact that I’m a hobbyist that loves working on my cars and readymade decals would open up a new and exciting world to all of us that love drag racing and HO slot cars. Please come and check out what’s going on at nitroslots.com. This is where many racers and builders hang out and you can see the stuff guys are doing with what little we have. If you were to get involved it would blow up the hobby!!! I put an example of my work in this email to show you I’m serious when I say I really believe you have an untapped market with HO drag racers like me. I took the image into Photoshop and created the decals. Thank you for your time and I hope you can consider my proposal.
Cordially,
Steve Hartley
My hope was to get a response (of any kind). So far.. nothing... It seems we are on our own when it come to extras in this class of slot cars. I teaching myself to mold bodies so I can make stuff. Heck from the looks of it even Autoworld is bombing out of making modern car bodies. They don't seem interested in the new Camaro body that in the NHRA or the bubbletop dragsters, it all nostalgia because its easier. It kinda bums me out.

Steve, it sounds like you have the same idea like me. We want to make cars of the ones we like and not what everyone else has. If you make any bodies of the pro stock or funny cars and sell them, let me know. If you know anyone that makes decals from their home let me know also. Thanks, Joe

Steve, Let us know if you get a response. I would be very interested in buying current liveries. I didn't get a response either when I inquired about pro Stock and Pro Mod decals when they were wanting feedback on what kind of decals to offer in HO scale. Current liveries makes the most sense to me since there are always a lot of AW bodies for sale on ebay.

You would think a market just waitng for product would be high on their list. If I had an alps printer +computer that ran xp I'd be on it. There is money to be made! Heck I'd start with Jim Dunn's cars since they seem to have a different sponsor every race.

Guys it is really not hard to do your own decals. I use Paint.net, it is a free program. It has all the masking tools you need. It allows you to scale a 1/24 scale decal to any size you need. Once done just print two sets one on clear decal paper and the other on white. With a white decal you must trim right up to the decal. I use small curved scissors and a pair of super sharp Mirco Mark straight scissors for decals. The Alps is old tech, the inkjets are much sharper. I have an Alps, it does not work anymore. I still have a few decals from that printer and they are not as nice as my current work. If anyone needs help just ask, always happy to teach someone how to DIY.

Thanks Eagle, Good advice, I'll grab that program. alpink, I've done only one set of decals so far but have been working on the john force Camaro and anything else I can grab profile images of. I think everyone has seen the one I did but here it is again.
