Look for a "Mean green" Aurora armature. That's what is legal for NTRA Doorslammers. Try Ebay to get an idea of cost?

Here is a link to Jag Hobbies. They are a good source for a lot of parts. jaghobbies.com/ho_slot_cars/parts_afx.htm Look down the page....first row under Aurora/AFX Magna Traction....mean green armature $5.25. That is a 6 ohm arm.

Forgot to say I have a 4 gear. Does that make a difference?

In this case no it does not make a difference. The arm on a 4 gear rotates counter clockwise due to the addition of the 4th gear. On a 3 gear it rotates clockwise. The only time this makes a difference is if there is timing on the armature. On a 4 gear to advance the timing on the arm, the commutator has to be rotated counter clockwise....the same direction as rotation. If that motor was put on a 3 gear with its clockwise rotation, the timing would be retarded. Makes sense? Anyway.....in your case the mean green with no timing will work in either type of car.

Thanks that does help a lot. I've sent my car to a couple proxy races but still learning how these motors work. I appreciate everything you guys do to help out especially with me working not only to get my track up and running in the next couple months but hopefully be able to run a national proxy race or two in 2017. Thanks again.

I will say that I look forward to having you host a race or...10 lol. There is definitely a learning curve, but anything you need to know can be found somewhere here on the forum. Glad to have you here.

Jump in any time and race. Give the stock classes a go and see how you like it. The first two races this year have Stock classes. Thought you might like this considering your avatar!!
