So Sorry for the late post,Thanks for doing such an awesome job Sam with the Race, Thanks to jjwallace for a great run in the finals, he is a pro in any class he runs.I want to thank Sam for all he does, and want to thank everybody who entered, I honestly did think I would go that far,I knew the Car was good,But I also knew there were some Awesome Cars and Racers that were entered, believe it or not , iam not sure if anybody's knows this, But that was my First Win here at Nitroslots, I believe the best finish for me was semi finals in this very category. Couldnt be happier with this Victory,Again thanks to everyone on here.

Thank you all for the comments. Although I did not seek sponsorship for this race I'd still like to remind everyone of our NTRA supporting vendors and to consider them on your next purchase. All of these vendors can be found at the bottom of Nitro Slots home page.
Here are a few pictures of all of the cars that participated this weekend.
some of my favorites, nice work guys!
Time to get to work
That's it from Pikes Peak Dragway. See you all in Tennessee.

Cars and scenery all look great!! I see #1 & #2 are giving each other dirty looks. Looking forward to the battle at Smoky Mountain.
My house is only a short distance from the location of some Civil war battles.
These battles will be a lot friendlier however.

I would like to make a minor suggestion on some of the classes, are the bodies, in nostalgia pro stock i think the bodies need to be pro stock style bodies 1985 and older, and not just muscle car bodies, and in Door Slammers, No Funny car bodies, Iam not trying to start any fights or anything but to me the different classes its important for the cars to look the part, not have two or three classes and all the bodies look the same and are just a bunch of muscle car bodies. Because back in the day when i ran on here,Racers would really try and make their cars look the part, and it was in the rules too. This is just a suggestion for the rules next year and my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestion Scott. Most of the Pro Stock class participants are new to the class and I think just about everyone that was competing besides yourself wasn't around when body rules were a major topic. One thing that is a put off is having to read a page of rules just to see if your body is legal. New NTRA rules are coming out for 2017 that will be easy to interpret and not as strict as they were before. Some classes will have a minimum weight rule so that detailers don't have a disadvantage by making their cars heavier with the addition of scoops etc...
I like period correct bodies and don't want to discourage anyone from detailing their favorite body however period correct hood scoops can be hard to come by. I personally will make hood scoops, parachutes and wings available for just the cost of shipping ($3 first class USPS) for anyone interested in participating at anyone of our events, just send me a message here on Nitro Slots.

In the early years of Pro Stock (my favorite era), the cars looked pretty much like stock muscle cars.

open discussion is very good for every one and I certainly encourage it ..... .... as long as everyone keeps an open mind!
there have been uncomfortable discussions regarding rules and body types that scared off some members.
let us please try to avoid such over opinionated posts.
all ideas are good, the ones most folks want should be adopted. be aware though, the majority never post their opinion and will simply not enter if they are not comfortable.
I like drag cars to look like drag cars, but that includes poor folks street sleepers and such. there have always been some different exhibition cars. competitive cars nearly always come down to a specific shape that fits the rules and allows the closest competition.
I have discouraged folks from using bodies from various other forms of automotive competition, like formula, indy, canam etc...
face it some folks just aren't as talented and still want to race, so I advise being very lenient with specific body rules regarding add on detail parts.
