I must admit I had a laugh when the little 4 cylinder whatever pulled up to the line against the Camaro in the latest Street Outlaw TV show. I said you have to be kidding. That was not even a knife to a gun fight, more like a pea shooter. The race went as expected as the Camaro won by, " two counties" per the announcer. It was good comic relief however.

I thought it was funny too when Monza annihilated that 4 cyl. Stinky Pinky or whatever he calls it would have had the Crowmod if he had a better start or if the track was 10' longer. Next week Shane totals his Vega, seen pictures of that car posted on FB after it happen 2-3 months ago. Kye Kelly wrecked this past weekend at a "no prep" race. It didn't looked totaled but had a fair amount of damage.

Yes that was a very close race between the Crowmod and the Stinky Pinky, (worse name for a car I ever heard). I think the Crowmod had it by a fraction but it was definitely a slight hole shot win. Sorry to hear that Vega was totaled it ran very well for a small block powered car. I saw the previews where he was taken away in an ambulance. One of the reasons I stopped racing was the fact that the guy in the other lane can take you out no matter how well you keep your car under control. Most of those guys seem to be all over the track something I hated to run against were drivers like that. I remember running several guys at the track with small blocks and giant 14-71 blowers on the motors. The blower was literally longer than the block. I generally had the edge on them when I raced.

Looked like the race had finished when the Vega wrecked??? Never said what caused it. He already has another Vega and will be back. For a small block to stay with those huge motored cars was exceptional, it did run very well. I saw that he switched to an Aluminum block but that might have been before the wreck.
After I sold my Beretta, (I sold it with a smaller 482"BB that was my spare motor), it still could run in the 140s and high 4s in the 1/8th. I was in contact with the buyer for awhile. He had previously drag raced but with 10 second cars not 7 second ones. On one of his early passes he Popped the chute and hit the brakes at the same time, a no-no. If you do that it unloads the rear tires and shifts all the weight to the front. He hit the guardrail but was OK and did repair the car. After repair I heard from him again and he had a second wreck, have not heard from him since.
