Throwing out an open challenge for unlimited 4 gear FED/Altered body at 26v. I've got a horse in the stall that's always itching to get out and stretch it's muscles.

Jeff I have a FED, the little yeller banana, that has been sitting waiting for a race since the cat came home. I will have to get the dust off of it and shake it down. You have a race unless the cat ate the dragster??

OK Dave it's on. I look forward to running these. They are fun and you never know what you're gonna get. I think I've seen your cat before in the mountains of New Mexico about 20 years ago.

Took it out for a shakedown pass and it was a little off. Took it apart for a cleaning and now it can't get out of it's own way?  ? I would understand it if I had never taken one apart before. Yes the cat has a pretty big territory. My wife named the cat and he has never forgiven her for that. |

It is running OK now after I fixed nothing on it??? I don't know if the 4 gear will live at 26V and request a first race at 20V if that is OK with you Jeff. If it lives at that voltage then we can jump to 26V, if it goes then that is racing. It tore up one cluster gear at 20 but I may not have had the correct rear hold down screw in.

If it lives at that voltage then we can jump to 26V, if it goes then that is racing. It tore up one cluster gear at 20 but I may not have had the correct rear hold down screw in. 26v is an angry voltage for sure with these cars.  We can start at 20v but my car needs a little more than that. I would like to get it up to 26v if it takes it though. I want to try and put down a good number at that voltage. This class has always been about how fast a 4 gear can go without destroying itself. I can tell you from personal experience that pretty much any plastic gear will not survive for long when the car reaches low .5's. That's where all the metal gear designs have come in. Let's see what happens at the lower voltage and then we will crank it up. Looking forward to it.  |

Looks like a flying car without enough wings, what happened? I have rarely seen a car go down the track and leave it like that. Did it hit something?
I am working on the anything goes pancake car. It keeps flinging tires off and it tore some old sillifoams up. Who makes some good ones, I remember Eagle used to make them but they are not on his web site anymore?
I ordered a set from someone on E bay and will give them a try.

Well I got the AFX match racer working pretty good now. It's keeping the tires on with the old sillifoams on it. Shredded one side a bit but it is hooking now instead of blowing off the tires in the early part of the run. 60' looks good now.  55 Chevy AFX match racer |
