Not sure if that's a big deal or not but it's good for me! On 20 volts, stock controller and an un-balanced 3 ohm arm. Moving forward...

Check out the April race at Smoky Mountain dragway, we will be running 2.5 Inline modifieds at that event.

My buddy got his 1.7 Mega G down to .519 on 20 volts! I put a better arm in mine and did a little more tuning but the best I could pull off was a .542. Now we are running 24 volts. Looks like a .4 is the next goal. Crazy!

Looks like you have the bug. .4s are only a bumper away. I enjoyed making the cars quicker and faster also, that's how I got started. Your setup is similar to the one I started with. It is addicting but a lot of fun. You should join us at some of the races. Some Inline racing coming up soon at Smoky Mountain dragway.

Oh yeah, full blown addiction! Gives us something to do in the Winter months. I don't know how many times these cars have been down the track but it's a LOT! Is low .5s considered "fast" or just okay?
So, as far as racing inlines goes. What is the voltage that everyone runs at the real races? If I'm going to do any racing I would want to set my car up for the voltage that will be used and make sure it can lay down a good time.

Voltage is established in the rules section but it is mostly left up to the individual racemaster and different classes will run different voltages. In the last race we ran 13.8 for the stock class and 18 for the NDS class. At Jeff's race I think one class is at 20V and the other is at 18V but I will have to check that. At my upcoming Inline race in April all classes will be run at 20 V with the exception of Pro Street Outlaw list races which will run at 18 V. Low .5s is fast but some of the guys who ran in the last 2.5 modified class ran in the low .4s. We can help you improve your times and get those cars smoking. First thing I would suggest is braid on the pickups. On some cars it is like adding nitrous to a 1/1 car, really wakes them up. Make that change and let us know how it works out. Then we can go from there. You have a decent setup with the 10 amp supply but some tracks themselves will boost performance. I run 2 30 amp supplies on a Max Trax track with 3 #10 feeds at the start, middle and end of the track. Those 3 things will cut about .05 off most cars and even more off the high amp draw cars I would bet that your cars would cut at least .05 off those times. I have some super modifieds that can run in the low .2s at well over 60 mph still at 20V. No way can they do that on tracks that do not have the power or multiple power feeds.

Thanks for the info Dave. I need to try braids again. I tried them last year but the cars would barely make it down the track. That was on the stock wall wart but I don't think I did them right...

Dan, check out this tutorial in the tech tips: nitroslots.com/thread/4194/electricalIt shows how to install braid. I have had almost amazing results with braid on some cars. Only rarely has it made only a slight difference. On some I have picked up .2 -.7 in ET and 5-8 MPH. Just about every car I have has braid installed. If your car ran slower something was installed wrong. Dave

Dano braids should add to your performance significantly. A lot more surface area on the braid than a flat pick up for the electrical path. Enjoying the posts!

Added some shunts and did a little more tweaking. .495@24v. Just got in some new brushes and pickup shoes today so I will give the braids another shot.
