These instructions are courtesy of Jeff Wallace:
This is a text only step by step guideline for uploading pictures using Flikr. It has been my experience over the last several years that Flikr is hands down easier and smoother operating than Photobucket. Also, the last time I checked they offered more storage for free (right at a terabyte). That's HUGE!
These steps will go from uploading to posting. One rule that you has to be remembered is an album cannot be created unless there is a picture to put in it. This looks like a lot to do with all the steps, but it's really not. It only looks that way when typing each step. It is really very easy and there are only a couple of screens to deal with. It's definitely worth the effort of learning. Hope this is of help and not too hard to read.
- Once you are logged in...hovering the cursor over "You" at the top left side of page will bring up a drop down list. You can go to your photostream...albums...etc.
- At the top right side of page is a "Cloud with an arrow in it". Click that to upload pictures from a file on your computer.
- That brings up the Flikr upload page. There is a blue bar in the middle of the screen that says "Choose photos and videos to upload". Click it.
- Clicking that brings up the file menu on your computer. Choose the file that has the pictures you want to upload and double click on it. Example: My pictures are located in my Documents folder. I double click documents folder then double click the file to open it.
- Choose the pictures to upload by holding the control button on keyboard and clicking each picture to highlight it.
- Once pictures are highlighted, click the "OPEN" button at the bottom right of screen.
- That will put the chosen pictures on the Flikr upload page.
- On the left side there is a drop down list. Several things can be done here. Pics can be given Titles, Tags, etc. For our purpose we are concerned with the line "Add to albums". Click that.
- That opens a window in the middle of the page. This is where you create your albums or place the pics being uploaded into an already created album. Choose whichever you want to do then click "Done".
- At the bottom of the drop down list on left has "Owner settings". Under that heading hover cursor over text "Only visible to you". The word "edit" in blue becomes visible. Click on edit and choose privacy setting for those pictures. Click the blue "Done".
- Now go to the blue button on the upper right side of page that says "Upload # Photos" and click on it.
- That brings up a window in the middle of the page which is the last prompt to edit the pictures before they are uploaded to Flikr. If you are done editing click the blue "Upload" button. Pictures will now be placed in the album you chose or created.
- That opens your Photostream page. Your Photostream is the ongoing list of pictures as you have uploaded them. If your picture(s) is here and you are ready to post it to Nitroslots or somewhere else then click on the picture. Otherwise choose the album heading, choose the album, then click the picture .
- Clicking the picture opens the picture so you can view it, use in Flikr projects, Edit, or Share photo. For posting on Nitroslots we are only concerned with "Share photo" which is the arrow that points to the right at the bottom right of the picture. Click the arrow.
- This opens yet another window that has the picture(s) address/location in different codes. We want "BB code" for posting. Click on BBcode and the address/location should be highlighted in blue, but if it's not, highlight it. Make sure it is all highlighted.
- Choose the size that you want the picture to be. I use medium 800 X 600. That seems to work well for the forum. But you can choose what works best for you.
- Now copy the highlighted address/location by hitting Ctrl + C on keyboard or right clicking with the mouse and choosing copy. Close that window and click the back arrow at the top left of screen to take you back to the Album or Photostream.
- Now go to Nitroslots and post picture by hitting Ctrl + V on keyboard or right clicking with mouse and choosing Paste. That will place the photo in the text window. Click preview to see it.
