While playing in Dave 632s backyard, Sevierville, TN,, I found this drag Vette, at a flea market. The white plastic is stained and one wheelie bar is missing, chrome is green, but otherwise in great condition. It has an AFX chassis with a green/green arm. The gear train is locked up. Looks like its been under water for a while. All steel parts are rusty. I'll have to soak it in WD40 and see if it can be saved. Also scored a 1/43 57 Vette die cast, for resin casting.

Very nice score Bill! We have a flea market here called Traders Village. My wife and I enjoy going out there and went last weekend. I was not able to find any slot car stuff, but on the last row of booths I found one that had a ton of Hot Wheels cars new and used. Picked up these beauties for casting in resin. '67 Mustang fastback, '67 Chevy C10, '72 Chevy Luv, and a '52 Chevy stepside. Not enough drag trucks out there as far as I'm concerned. I will cast them as they are then modify and recast as custom drag trucks. I love going to the flea market.

Jeff,
Those die cast have a lot of potential! Flea markets can be a lot of fun and a great place to hunt down die cast cars. The loose ones tossed in a box are my favorites. A few scratches, nicks and bent wheels don't bother me.
There was one Hot Wheel at Sevierville that caught my eye, an old Stude Pro Mod called At-A-Tude. Looks like a cool drag car but a little too narrow for a slot car.
I need to send you some pics of the die cast trucks I have.
Bill

Bill I keep looking for those hidden nuggets of gold. I thought I might find more, but not that trip. This booth had a bunch of cars that I normally don't see in the stores...including the trucks. A couple of these are a little too narrow, but I will cast them, then widen if needed and add whatever I decide, then recast. I like the Doorslammers, so that is what most of them will become. I would be interested in seeing your trucks. I think you posted the pic of the '67 C10 awhile back. That one was a score for sure. I'm new to casting and when I customize, I like to do stuff that is a little different and unique. Thanks.

Here's a picture of the Hot Wheels At-A-Tude Stude. Perhaps you'll find one somewhere.

Some good finds at times at the fleas. Not many around here to look over. Sevierville is about an hour away from where I live in Knoxville.
