Outlaw street race at Bristol Tn. draws est. 32-37K fans.

A recent no prep Outlaw street race at Bristol Tennessee dragway, 8/22/17, filled the stands and then some. www.bristoldragway.com/
There was reportedly a 6 mile long line waiting to get in when they stopped letting any more spectators in. This was on a Tuesday
night which sure is not the best day to draw folks to a drag race. Big Chief, Daddy Dave, Kye Kelly and the whole crew were there.
It was run for an 1/8th mile on the track which is a lot safer than some of the places those guys have run in the past and the speeds they
are now running are getting pretty crazy so I think the a legitimate track has become a necessity. If I had known about this ahead of time
I would have went there to see it.
This just shows me that a TV show with race cars that actually look like something you would see on the street can draw an
incredible amount of spectators. It sure interests me far more than any dragster ever did. This show has revived drag racing.
I think they are going into their 7th season on Discovery which has a big hit on their hands. Looks like the guys on the show are reaping some big rewards as they are sure
spending some mega dollars on their cars and equipment. I remember when they all had open trailers and ran cars that you could really drive on the street and
Big Chief was working on Air Conditioners as a job.
