Hi again guys. I have a question. This may or may not matter..just curious about other views. I am just about done HEAVILY modifying a 'plastic' hardbody. What it amounts to is a Hot Wheels 1/64 Cadillac CTS body, molded in plastic. I have shortened it a bunch, promodded it with wing , blower and chutes, and it now fits on an a/fx chassis. My question is this. The windows on it are molded in to the body. Do I need to cut these out? Can I just paint them black? Does it really matter as far as any 'rules'? Really not thrilled about cutting them out but will if necessary. Any thoughts? I do have another q too... Anybody ever try using 1/64 diecast wheels? I'm pretty sure I've seen front wheels and tires used, but will the rear plastic wheels still 'hold up' to being 'powered' with a motor and gears? I can sure think of some REAL good looking wheels and tires, and God knows I got TONS of 'em around, since I DO customize 1/64 diecast cars! As soon as I can, I'll get pics of the Caddy body for you guys. Think it looks real cool myself! ;D Ron (Bondo)

Of course! Ya gotta cut them out and make the door windows roll up and down! Wait a minute...that's for stock class. Bet you could "getter dun!" Since this group hasn't had a specific Pro Mod Race the rules haven't been decided yet. Great question though. I'm not sure how HODRA, USDRA and the other many sanctions have set theirs up. You can find their websites on hodragraceregistry.com and most have their rules listed on their individual websites. The only thing is.. why worry about it too much until you know there is a race of that type scheduled. Again, great question and this could spur some debate as to the number of classes that should be held at each race. Looking forward to the pictures as I'm personally trying to learn more about Pro Mod and go to Pro Mod races since NHRA is screwing up their program with all the race rule changes. Countdown, Friday 12 car qualifying, one lane race tracks, etc.

Hey Allstarhr, Good website and message board for ya. www.promodzone.com Another good one is www.competitionplus.com Alot of the 1 to 1 drivers post there on the 'Zone, and you can find a LOT of pics in the other, as well as next races and updates and stuff. I learned a LOT about ProMod from there, 1/24 slots. AND the real thing. Even got autographed pics here somewhere of Scotty Cannon's Willy's, Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick and his '64 Pontiac, and a few more. Yep...ProMods are only "ProStocks on STEROIDS!" LOL! ;D BTW...thanks for the answers, I'm STILL gonna finish it, since I can ALWAYS bracket race it, RIGHT? And on MY track, it WILL be legal...LOL. "Here at the Alamo City Miniature Dragway,We don't NEED no steeeenken rules"!! LOL!! Yep..my track is in the 'design and purchase' stage. Some parts are on the way, some I have and some I still gotta get. Gonna get it up and running as soon as I can! I'll probly pattern any 'rules' I have after the ADRL and Texas Outlaw ProMod Assoc., and those kinds of organizations. LOTS of OUTLAWS! (of course there will probly be VERY few rules..I AM in Texas after all! ;D) Ron (Bondo)

This is a good general question actually. My feelings on windows are.............they should be clear palstic or lexan UNLESS they are molded in. Then Black or silver are acceptable. Many cars have deeply tinted windwos that are almost opaque anyway.
Cant wait to see that car when its done!

Let's check with the Mead Bros. I've seen most of their cars displayed with some really neat Convo Pro's that they said came from Hot Wheels but I don't know if the tires can be changed to silicon. The normal Hot Wheel type tire is probably way to hard to hook up. JMO

Jada and Dub City hubs are great... AFX specialty silicones fit right on.
Also, if you use an AJ's threaded axel, the rims will twist on and hold tight. If you want to use an AFX axel, you're gonna have to bore them out a touch, no biggie.
As for windows... I'm a clear, or translucent window man myself.
