What's being used out the for Brushes Springs and Shoes for TJet and AFX pancakes. I am finishing up my tool collection for my pancake cars and not starting to look into parts inventory for them.

You'll probably get a variety of opinions on the best springs to use. Since you're not worried about cornering, spring tension is less critical. On road courses folks often cut coils from the stock springs to keep them in the slot. Drag racers use wheelie bars to help keep it in the slot.
Having a spring with a good electrical connection is bigger priority on AFX cars. Since the springs aren't part of the electrical circuit it's not a concern on Tjets. Having enough pressure to make good contact with the track rails is most important.

I agree with Bill + where rules allow there is no substitute for braid added to the pickups. I have had some cars pick up a full tenth and near 10 MPH with braid added. Others where the pickup setup is better have not had such a dramatic effect. Wheelie bars are an excellent item to add for drag racing when allowed as some cars will pull the front end right out of the groove every time when enough traction is added. Most races here at Nitro allow wheelie bars even in the stock classes. Who wants to see a lot of de slots.

When it comes to t-jets, My best times come from wizzard brushes and shoe springs and either slot tech or american line pickup shoes depending on the class. I agree, your car will be faster with braids but without braids, these shoes have worked the best for me. I also use wizzard brushes in my AFX/MT chassis.

Ok guys I have searched and found write ups but it looks like when we changed over to flikr ALOT of stuff got wiped out image wise My question is, what width braid are you using for shoes? I found some stuff from MicroMark that they offer in 25 ft rolls and its listed as .100 width, and I also found braids listed for micro scalextric ho cars. Would either work well for what we do or am I still in need to hunt down a more correct braid??

The braids I use were sold as solder wick, which is for desoldering electronic parts. They came from an eBay vendor out of Texas and were available in 1, 2, & 3mm widths. They were only a few bucks per roll with quick and cheap shipping. These braids are solid copper. Try searching for solder wick or desoldering wick.
If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll see if the info on the seller is still available.
I have a few Micro Scalectrics (MS) cars. Their braids are thicker than the solder wick braids and appear to be stainless steel. One of my MS cars has the stock braids replaced with the solder wick and I like it much better that way. The front end sits lower and performance seems stronger. You probably would not be pleased with th MS braids.

At this time 3mm but thinking of trying smaller. Tried 1mm but it was a little too small.
