Thank you mazda. JLM Racing, its has nothing to do with extra passes. Your car had the correct dial in prior to your race. You car simply picked up some pace for whatever reason. Which made your car go faster than it's dial in time. You can't go quicker than your dial in time + whatever percentage is set! If you had won your last race you could have used 0.4466 + your dial in percentage for the next race had you not "Broken out". Other cars have sped up or slowed, consistent times are what will do well when bracket racing not speed. If we were racing a seeded ladder race and not the clock your car would be great picking up speed. Please start another thread or use PM if you want to discuss any issues. The event/race thread doesn't need to become a rule discussion thread.

Kiwidave, not a problem, As I am new to Drag racing it is a learning curve. I know from road racing that cars seem to run better on some days than others . It was a newly built chassis and it seems to be getting better with each run. Good luck in your next run. Clive

...I'm still lost in the Drag concept....but thats fine..but my problem is the extra pass my car made....based on the ET, that was a big jump..even by my building standards......the extra pass my car made has broken it in..or as we call it in road racing "Grooved in"....so the car has adapted to the rail heights....one pass extra than the rest of the field...the time that was run in the extra pass should be ET for this run....an that would be .4783.....if I'm not correct...... By giving my car an extra pass down the track...it has an advantage of being freer than the rest of the field...so by that mistake...all my ET's are one ahead....so this ET (.4466) should be applied to my next round.... with all things being equal.....and that goes to passes down the track.... JLM your car had the same amount of runs as any other car. You did not have an extra run. Your car should not have run in Round one is all. Even at 5% figured for your Dial In on your lowest Qualifying ET, your car still would have broke out just barely. You got a Round 1 bye.....but in reality even a bye run has to go down the track and we normally do it that way anyway. This particular ladder does not show it that way. It was not a disadvantage to you or anyone else that your car made that pass. I do not know why your car picked up speed? In a Bracket race the only thing we do to the cars is clean the tires and I'm very cautious about cleaning the track or doing anything else that might cause cars to pick up speed..........that is completely opposite of what we do in a regular fastest car wins race. The last 4 races lastnight saw a car speed up and break out in every race. No reason for it......nothing changed with the track or the cars.....sometimes it just happens that way. That is the beauty of a Bracket race......anyone can win.....but it ain't easy to have one of these little cars (or a full size car for that matter) make 4 or 5 passes and be on that number everytime. I am sorry you are feeling duped due to my mistake of running your car that one run, but it made the same number of passes that everyone else did. Jeff

Like I said in my last post......anyone can win in Bracket racing, but it isn't easy to have one of these cars make 5 consistent passes. We have cars that are doing that right now. My cars typically speed up as a race goes on, so I end up breaking out in the mid to late rounds. Thanks again.

Bracket Drag racing, as in all forms of racing, is a learning curve. The idea is to pick your most consistent car. That would be one that runs the same time with little variation. Luck is also a huge factor in bracket racing. You could theoretically lose every race but end up winning because your opponent broke out every time. I have several cars that run all over the place from one run to the next. While others are quite consistent. One of my cars was the quickest car in qualifying, it ran .41, and it runs over 30 mph on my track but it went out in the first round to a slower more consistent car. That's bracket racing.

No, but Curly my driver has been known to pull some shenanigans. Next run he will probably take the nitrous himself instead of the car.

JLM your car was very fast, (was #2 in qualifying ET), which does not always help in bracket racing. At the race in April there will be no breakouts and I think your car would compete well in the 2.5 inline class.

Could you guys give me the tracking number for the Deacon please.... Wendell I apologize to you and everyone, but I am running 1 day behind. All cars were to be posted yesterday at the latest. Life got in the way and slowed me down. Two full evenings after work of packing and cars are all ready to mail this morning. Getting ready to go to the Post Office now. I will post tracking numbers today. Thank you for your patience. Jeff

I've been afraid to ask any requests do to possible slot over load really appreciate the great job you've done. I was wondering if we could see some time slips you know 60' 330' 660' mph would be helpful in seeing how my cars responded to other conditions then mine . Still enjoying the event a week later thank you

I was wondering if we could see some time slips you know 60' 330' 660' mph would be helpful in seeing how my cars responded to other conditions then mine . Still enjoying the event a week later thank you Hey Jeff I really appreciate the good words! THAT is what makes it all worthwhile. Always ask your questions. If I'm able to accommodate someone's requests, etc., then I will. It was pretty close to slot overload though. As I have said, it takes a lot of time and effort to run an event like I and others do. I try to go the extra mile, but there is always something more that I wanted to do and wasn't able to. This race it was slow motion video. I did get the videos and will post them soon, but I want to incorporate them into the race coverage. I will work on that for next race. My first race here was in 2011 at Rick Voeglins Lions Drag Strip. It was the Manufacturers Challenge. It was awesome!! Rick is a great photographer and is very gifted with his commentary! I was hooked from that point on. I try to emulate that race everytime I run one of mine. That to me is what brings the racers in. I hate a hastily run event.....it bums me out. Oh one other thing........I'm a little OCD when it comes to details. So things tend to go a little longer sometimes...lol. OK so that was way more than you asked for I know. Point is....ask your questions whenever you want to. I do not record those incremental numbers. The timing system does have the capability to do so and print as well, but I do not have a printer. When I'm running a race, I do not input driver names, etc into the computer. It is too time consuming and unnecessary for my needs. That would be the only way to keep up with any stored data. I could have run your car while it was here and given you some data for your tuning, but as you know they are headed back home. Dave632 has the same timing system I have with a few extra sensors, so he should be able to get some of those numbers during his race. Good luck at Smoky Mountain and the NTRA International will be following that. I am the mail hub for the New Zealand races. Cars are mailed to me and I mail them there. Keep that in mind. Thanks.
