We are ready and waiting for the cars here at Smoky Mountain. Appreciate that Dave! A few more things to do today and if all goes semi-well, I'll be shipping tomorrow. I'll PM a tracking number. Thought I could squeeze everything into a small flat rate box, just didn't work out, so will be mailing a medium size box. Thanks for all you're doing!

Shipping regular priority mail is usually cheaper than going by medium flat rate box depending on weight. Slot cars are light so it is usually cheaper using regular priority mail. Looking forward to seeing your cars run at the Smokies.

Welp, I gotta tell ya, people, I am totally freakin' blown away! Decided to put some braid on some shoes for my S/C entry this morning, just to see if there was going to be a noticeable difference and all, before I got them all packed up. Holy crap, any wheres from .13 to .15 seconds difference from the best times I could get before. Needless to say, I'm sold on braids . Yesterday, the Camaro (DR1) started jumpin' outta the slot big time again, don't know why. Didn't feel comfortable drilling into the chassis so removed the stock wheelie bars from the body, added some .060 styrene to that assembly and wedged & glued it back onto the body. It's real stout and improved by .07 seconds. Went ahead and put a simple little wire bar on the Henry J. Slowed it down by about .015 or so, but opted to leave it on. Figured it couldn't hurt at Dave's track. I might actually get it all to the PO this afternoon .

GTS add braids anytime they are allowed. They will be worth it everytime. That also shows how deficient the electrical contact is even when you have full contact of the pick up shoe and track rail.

Wait til one of those cars has to have the braids removed to meet class rules. It's truely a painfull experience. It feels like your car is dragging an anchor.

Braids are the nitrous of HO slot car racing. I also have had big improvements shown between braid with and without, some cars seem to have better pickup shoe contact and the effect is lessened with those cars. I have not had wheelie bars slow down a car. Make sure you have about .020 between the track and the wheelie bar but not too much more than that. Less than that and the bar could drag down the track slowing the car. Drag racing without the wheelie bars allows a lot of de slots. Who wants to see that, I don't. I have also found that BSRT type cars rarely need wheelie bars as the long magnets keep the front end in the slot.
