Gale what ohm motor and type magnets is that car running. It is a can motor right? Also what is the weight with body? The ohms vary between 2.5 & 2.6, measuring from the braids on the car. Have no idea about the magnets. The picture is of the motor I blew up the first day of testing . They are typical N20 motor sizing. One of these days I'll tear into it and have a look see at the magnets, although at this time, I tend to think the magnets are ceramic. The weight, as is with a steel wheelie bar, is 18.1 grams. I did some initial testing with poster putty stuck on top and it varied a few hundredths both ways. So will bring it up to spec, weight wise, when all the other testing is done and then test some more .

I know Eagle has those specs, but I believe he is putting a variety of motor ohms in his chassis and I wondered what yours was.

I know Eagle has those specs, but I believe he is putting a variety of motor ohms in his chassis and I wondered what yours was. Just for clarity; I'm not sure what ohm motor that the car was shipped with, blew it up first day and no reading is available. The motor in it now was one of the 5 Robert sent for distribution at my proxy race. I kept one and mailed the other 4 back with cars. Wished I'd kept all 5 now , just kidding. I sent them to members that had expressed on the forum getting some of his cars. I went ahead and got a few N20 motors off ebay that looked similar, for backup and they ohm out at 6 to 6.5 ohms. I have not tried powering any of those up as of yet. After I get all my cars sent to the Spring Nats, I want to put one of those ebay 6 ohm motors in a Mega G+ 1.7 I have, just to see what they will do. When I acquired the 37 Chevy Coupe with the N20 Drag motor, I also got a Nova with a N30 motor, which at the time was listed as a milder motor. I see he doesn't clarify a difference between the two on his website presently. The N30 ohms out at 9.7 ohms at the braids. About a year and half ago I ordered a couple N20 motors from an ebay HO slot car seller that ohm out at 5.5 ohms. They originally were going to replace the motors in the 2 Mega G+ 1.7's I have.
Anyways, I'll probably go on the hunt for some more of the 2.5 ohm N20 motors. I think it's hit & miss on what you get according to that particular production run but I'm just guessing. I've found it next to impossible to get any hard core specs from a vendor. All of that is clear as mud, right?

Yes Sir....I followed right along. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the can motors. Don't know much about them or the types available. I was wondering how it compared to other types of production chassis. Good info. thank you.

Well, I don't think the magnets are ceramic nor do I think they are neo's. Don't know what they are but don't appear to be very strong. The magnets are in the can pretty solid, couldn't pick them out so let it be. When I put it back together, I did get it running but had to spin it by hand to get it started. I think the timing on the brushes are fouled up and with me messin' with it allowed it to at least run with an assist. Sorry I didn't take a photo of the brush setup. The way it is constructed appears it wouldn't take much to get the brushes misaligned. It's good to know that the armature seems okay. I'll try to get it running like it should at a later date, if possible.
For reference; the squares on the cutting pad are 10mm square.

They are advertised as Neo mags on ebay. However they are the weakest Neo mags I have measured. I measured some Wizzard P2 ceramics and they are pretty even with the N20 magnets. I also measured BSRT 20 year old poly mags for Super G+ and those measured out 650 on my BRP magnet matcher vs the N20 mags at 425. They are know where near as strong as new compression motor magnets.

Interesting discussion. Seems like the manufacturers may not know what they have in their motors either.
