KiwiDave will be sending my cars from New Zealand after his race is over. I will be in Vegas for a pool tournament on those days but I will bring a tablet so I can see the results. Anybody else remember the 57 Ford from the movie "Thunder Road"? Thunder road Ford Fairlane

Great movie!!! Remember the car well...it was one of our family cars. Ours was a four door, had a spotlight on the driver's door...We use go riding and flash parkers, when I could borrow the car. Remember it had V8... Back to the movie...My dad took me to the drive-in to watch Thunder Road on the big screen...Good Times...RM

Dave, THANK YOU for your assistance getting this rolling. I will try to get a "sign up" post started once I re-learn how to use the features here. we will use the present number designations as Dave's race for the cars and additional will be used for cars that don't race at Daves. hopefully, this will allow for easier identification of cars in posts regarding results.
track specs variable 30 volt 10 amp power supply. black 6" wide Wizzard track with timed section of 10' 3.75" (123.75 inches) on 12' (144 inches) of powered rails. 6 feet of steel bar shut down which can be shunted or reverse polarity at 9 volts and catch box with loosely bunched micro fiber cloths inside as a sand trap so to speak. Track Mate 300 timing system with multiple sensors ..... stage... start... 11" from start... 43" from start... MPH 111.75" from start and ET 123.75" from start. currently no mid track sensors(half track).
Thunder Road has hosted some previous races and hopes to continue providing a venue. come one, come all. we try to provide a fun and entertaining event which can be, somewhat, compared to street racing in dynamics. (also, my longest wall is only 24 feet and there needs to be room to open a door at the end of the track ....LOL) looking forward to racing everyone's cars. I will check and adjust pickup shoes to be flat for all that agree.

a bunch of long distance haulers pulled in today. the crews appear to need some R&R so they will not be unloading race cars for a few days. more info soon!

Will be interesting to see how our cars perform on a 1/8 mile, never done it before, should be epic.

Distance will change some of the results between 1/8 and 1/4.

Distance will change some of the results between 1/8 and 1/4. Is it an accurate assumption that the cars with strong 60' times would do better on the 1/8 mile?

I would think so Bill. Several of the entries were tuned on 1/8 mile tracks as well. I expect to see some movement in qualifying. Also I noticed several cars were running a large rear tire. That will typically give better top end once they start rolling but they lose a little in the first part of the run. Now.....I said all that out loud. We all know there are exceptions to the rules. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. I know I will have eyes peeled on the computer. I'm looking forward to the possibility of tuning to race on some of the 1/8 mile tracks we are seeing now on the forum. The only time I have ever done that is at Alpinks previous events.

Should be interesting. I have had many races decided after the 1/8th mile even on my 1000' track.
