Looking at the rules for the inline classes, particularly the Unlimited class, and all I find is a reference stating that all inline chassis fall under the Pancake Comp rules. The PCC rules state racers choice, run any one of the division chassis (i.e. TJet, MT/XT, 4 gear). I find no list of the Inline Division chassis allowed. Are scratchbuilt (wire/brass) chassis allowed in Open and Unlimited classes? Also, I assume a Silly Foam tire is a sponge-silicone tire? Also, there is mention of a mandatory weight rule for all classes except for the Open and Unlimited classes but I cannot find it listed in the rules. Maybe I don't have the right set of rules. I grabbed the ones under the 2018 NTRA Rules tab in the header of the forum front page.
Thanks for the help!

Im not sure where you are seeing the reference "that all inline chassis fall under the Pancake Comp rules". All Inline chassis are allowed....SG+, Mega G, Wizzard, Tyco, Jag DR1, Etc, Etc. Too many to list specifically. The weight rules are really more intended to allow for body customizing and not penalize someone for adding motors, chutes, etc. and keep the playing field level for all. We like to see everyone's customizing talents. You are correct on the definition of Silly foams tires. No restrictions across the board on Inline Unlimited I would think includes scratch built chassis?? That would be up to the Racemaster in the end, but the Inline unlimited can get pretty crazy and there are only a couple of tracks that have enough shut down for those. The NTRA rules are intended as a guideline. They can be followed specifically or tweaked by the Racemaster. An example of this is my upcoming race. Check it out. nitroslots.com/thread/4528/2018-texas-nationals-creek-dragway?page=1

After just now rereading the rules, I see that when I reformatted them to fit on 3 pages instead of four, I jumbled a couple paragraphs and when it mentions "Inline all builds : unlimited, I had a sentence fragment from a preceding paragraph tacked on the said their chassis falls under the "Pancake Comp" rules. My bad! I still don't understand the weight issue. If there is some sort of leveling the playing field, weight wise, how do I know what that weight is when building my car? I read somewhere that putty can be put under the body by the Race Master to add weight. I am not to keen on that idea. Placement of the putty can impact the overall performance of the car. I'd rather build to a set weight myself as it is easy enough to do.

I dont know that anybody has set any weight specs this year for any reason and like I said, the weight rules are just there to promote, or rather, not discourage customizing bodies. Just ask the question for clarification. I have not set any weight limits for my race and as you said, it is always better to do the work yourself instead of having a Racemaster add weight. I do not handle racers cars anymore than I absolutely have to for my races and I do not disassemble unless there is a reason to do so. Those would be because a car was received not running or possibly tech for the winner, but I have only had to do that a couple of times in the 15+ proxy races that I've been involved with. Thanks again for asking.

I also do not set weight minimums for any of my races and there certainly are no limits for unlimited cars. I do not like adding weight to cars but if I have to I use poster putty on my cars. I have never added it to any of the cars that ran at my races. I do not take cars apart to check them outside of removing the body for a look and only then for the winner or a car that is exceptionally quick. I can check motor ohms and magnet gauss without disassembly. Even body style is recommended not required.
