2019 RACE SCHEDULE AND CALENDAR
Dave632 has opened this thread as a CALL OUT for those who wish to Racemaster a proxy race in 2019. It allows everyone to see what, when, where, and how at a glance for the year. It's nice to be able to plan ahead with our builds instead of last minute all of the time. The thread will stay open through the first week of January. Then the calendar will be posted. If you are interested, just post your track name and specs (i.e. surface, timing system, power supply, etc), the date you would like to have your event held on, and NTRA classes that will be run. No worries if you have never run an event. There are several Racemasters that are more than happy to give advice. Keep it simple and small for the first one and everything should be golden. Also, if you are not sure what classes yet or track is being built or the exact dates, the information can be updated later but it should be done as soon as possible well before the event. 2018 was a really good year in my opinion here on Nitroslots. 2019 looks to be even better. We look forward to racing on some new proxy tracks. Events can be added later after calendar is posted. The calendar is a convenience for everyone to see the years schedule.

I plan on running the NTRA Winter Nationals on March 28-30. Classes TBA. PSO and 4GO List races will be run at this event. Bear Creek Dragway is located in Euless, Texas and is a Maxx Trax 15' 7." timed surface, Trackmate DP3000HO timing system (sensors 60',660',speed trap), timing sensors powered by overhead puck lighting mounted 36" above track, each lane powered by a dedicated Mastech 3010 0-30v 0-10a power supply, controllers are Parma 25ohm, short shut down 3' dynamic braking into series of soft barriers. **For list racing a 24vac DPDT relay wired to each lane for simultaneous start as required (powered by a 24vac transformer). ** (11) proxy races have been run at Bear Creek Dragway since 2013.

What would be the preferred amount of time between events that has come to prove most comfortable for all?

My suggestion would be about 4 weeks between events or one per month.

I will run an event May 10th - 12th. I will post classes well ahead of time. Track is a scale 1/64 1000' by MaxTrack with a Track Mate timing system featuring 60, 330, 660, finish ET and MPH. 2 30A power supplies with relay controls either simultaneous or independent. My suggestion would be about 4 weeks between events or one per month. Thanks Dave, sounds good. I'll get together a request/post with details shortly, for an event during Feb. 8, 9 & 10 if it winds up being available. Anxious to get a simple one under my belt.
Love the slow motion video! I thought the slo-mo action was excellent, so have to ask, what camera or FPS did you shoot that with?

It was a race we filmed back in the past where the same 55 Chevy that just won the recent 2.5 race was involved. We re ran the race just to show it as it was a good one as you can see. My son used his smart phone to record it in slo mo and put it on Flickr. I do not have such a phone but I would like to be able to do more such videos with dubbed in sound like Jeff does. Hopefully I will be able to do so in the future.
I would suggest you start with a one or two class event to get started. Racing the cars is a blast but posting all the info takes a lot of time. Those dates look good, just figure out what classes you want to run and lock in those dates. Looking forward to running on your track.

I also agree with what Dave said. 1 month minimum between events. 1 1/2 to 2 months seems to be ideal and doesn't burn everybody out. The 1 month allows for mail time to and from each of the events. Also as Dave said, the picture taking, uploading, commentary, and posting takes the most time........and then there is the shipping. There is the work part of it. It is an effort to put on a good event. That is the reason for the suggestion to keep it small and simple at first. I enjoy the cars, the race, the production....all of it. The idea is to put YOU the racer at the event. The closer we can get to that, the better. I take lots of pictures.....everybody likes to see their cars and others. Just a few things to keep in mind for those that may be considering running a race.

Good Time Speedway and myself would like to host a proxy event for February 8th thru the 10th of 2019. Located in Spokane, WA 99207.
The track is a scale 1000' (15' 7.5") with sensor readouts for: 1 - Reaction time. 2 - 60' ET & mph 3 - 330' ET & mph 4 - 660' ET & mph 5 - Finish; final ET; with mph thru a scale 45' speed trap at the finish. Timing sensors are activated by puck lighting (xenon) 36" above the track.
The track is continuous rail with an approximate .012" to .015" rail height. Guide slots are .0625" wide x .1875" deep, routed into .25" thick expanded PVC ( a plastic product).
Slow down is 86" with dynamic braking, series of soft barriers and a foam containment at the end.
Power supply is a Kepco regulated variable power supply with 0 - 36 VDC & 0 - 15 amps. Controller for operating both lanes simultaneously is a 25 ohm solid state DS controller. Temperature at the track will vary from 62 to 68 degrees fahrenheit (17 - 20 degrees celcius)
Would like to run 2 classes (according to NTRA rules): Pancake Super Stock (with braids only, NO shunts) & Inline Stock (with magnet lowering allowed on TR3 & DR1 chassis. NO braids). Would prefer pre79' full fendered in both classes but that's just a preference. No lexan bodies; allowing hard plastic or resin only.
DISCLAIMER: I can easily be talked out of the dates specified so please let me know before the end of 2018 so I can plan accordingly. Also, if these two classes are felt to be too much to be taken on, with it being my first event and all, please advise! I do want it to be a success!
Thank you for your consideration, Gale
EDIT: Forgot to include that the timing software is Drag Race Coordinator and shows timing to the thousandth of a second, NOT ten thousandths.

Sounds good, I don't think 2 classes is to much to start with. You can get used to running the race and posting the info. There are only a few cases where the last 10 thousandth decides a race and a tie is given to the car with the best reaction time which to me does not seem fair since that means the other car actually has the quicker time but it is a rarity. I have had a few dead heats on my track out of thousands of runs and maybe 30 or so that were down to the last thousandth. Looking forward to racing at your track.

I would like to host a race but I hesitate as to a date. Im low man on the list, would prefer to let everyone choose and then pick.I will be installing the timing near future. Have some cool starting line vinyl ordered and shopping for power supply. My current supply for my road course is not adjustable. Please pencil me in for 2019. My thought is toward the end of the year [September October]. After Im up and running, 2020 will be Hammer Down.

Welcome to the race director role. Glad to have you. Where did you find the starting line vinyl?
