Did some testing today, first added braid to a 440X wide chassis with the expected result. Before braid, 60' = .1642, ET .9250 MPH 14.82, after braid = 60' .1719 ET .8668, MPH 17.62. Then I took the stock tires off, this was a like new 440X chassis and the stock tires felt pretty good, not dried at all. I expected an improvement but this was better than expected, = 60' .1308, ET .7704, MPH 17.35. I noticed that the 60' between no braid and braid was worse with the braid, I could hear the tires spinning harder with the extra power when braid was added. Almost a full tenth ET improvement with the Super tires vs stock which is quite a jump. I also noted that MPH was almost the same when the tires were changed. This told me that the motor was pretty much wound out well before the finish and needed a taller gear. In 1/1 putting better tires on a car will often help ET with little difference in trap speed.
