2019 NTRA Winter Nationals at Bear Creek Dragway
FRIDAY
OK racers and guests this is the official start of the event. I had hoped to get Qualifying done lastnight, but unfortunately that did not happen. I should have started unpacking cars earlier. It took all evening just to do that. No complaints though....all that means is we've had a great turnout for the race! I have 62 cars in house right now and Gnome's will be showing up today which will put us close to 70 cars total. That's fantastic and I have all of you to thank. No worries though....I will get it all done once I get into the rhythm of the race. Fridays Race format Cars still need to go through tech and then Qualifying of the Stock and Gasser classes. Qualifying results and first round ladders will be posted following Qualifying. Random qualifying pics will be posted and then Tjet Stock eliminations begin. Winners Circle pics and awards will follow. That's the plan so lets see how it goes. I have 3 days to get this all done so we should be ok. 76deg is the projected high for today. A great day for racing. Good luck to everybody today and this weekend!

I've been steady at it, but I am running behind from where I wanted to be. It's good because.....Gnome's cars are here and he doesn't miss anything. I am getting his stuff squared away and qualifying his Stocker. Then I will have some numbers to post. There have been lots of setup issues with the Stockers and as I expected, they are inconsistent as heck.

Tjet Stock Round 1
Race 1 Light goes green and the GTO leaves like it's shot out of a cannon. The Henry J is already two cars behind by 60'. That Pontiac is fast. Dave632 easily takes the win 1.2411et to 2.862et.
Race 2 Looks like this should be the closest race of the round....on paper. But something has happened to the Camaro. It spits and sputters all the way down the track. It fell off in Qualifying between 1st and 2nd runs as well. Ecbill slows slightly from qualifying, but it is enough to get the job done. Ecbill 1.590et to 2.254et.
Race 3 The Chevy Wagon puts the Camaro on the trailer with a solid, but slowing run through the traps. Eagle improves from his qualifying time. Gnome wins 1.475et to 2.134et.
Race 4 Nosub's GTO sends Kiwidave's Thunderbolt back to the pits with a loss. The Pontiac was just too strong on this race day. Nosub wins 1.407et to 2.133et.

Race 5 MustangPaul slows way down from what he qualified and coasts across the finish line. Hairy Canary lays down a hot run that is the second best ET of the round to take the win. 1.271et to 3.56et.Race 6 This was hands down the best race of Round 1. Kstocks wanted it bad and picked up his game from qualifying. The Mustang leaves on the Nova. But the Nova gets up on the tire and drives right by just before the 660' and turns on the win light. GTS wins 1.425et to 1.563et.Race 7 This race went like it looked like it would. The Cougar did get out on the Camaro by .010 but it wasn't near enough. Dave632 pulls on Mazda all the way down the track and moves to Round 2. 1.358et to 2.470et.Race 8 Both cars improve solidly from qualifying times. The Mustang is too strong for the Torino this day and hits the lights first. Kstock over Kiwidave 1.376et to 1.763et.Round 2 coming up.........

Congratulations to all the round one survivors, should be some good racing ahead. Looks like the Pontiac GTOs are doing well at this race qualifying 1-2 and 5.
Looking forward to the race between #3 and #6 qualifier and #4 and #5 in the 2nd round, should be a nail biter as they were only .02 and .05 apart in the 1st round.

Tjet Stock Round 2
Race 9 Ecbill makes his best run of the race in a losing effort. He got out on Dave632 at the 60', but the GTO was not having it and pulls by for a solid win. 1.227et to 1.517et
Race 10 This was a good race till just before the 660'. That's when the GTO started making power and showed Gnome's wagon his rear bumper. Nosub moves on 1.415et to 1.503et.
Race 11 A little staging duel here.....GTS needs every advantage. He lights both bulbs but Hairy Canary isn't fazed. They leave .0004 apart. The Nova is out at 60' but the big block goat power comes on and Hairy Canary turns on the win light by 2 1/2 cars. 1.380et to 1.435et.
Race 12 A little bit of an upset here. The Mustang makes it's best pass of eliminations to put away the #3 qualifier. The Chevy stalls at the hit and never recovered. Kstocks is going to the Semis. 1.363et to 1.512et.

Does anybody have anything for Dave's GTO? Hairy Canary's ET fell off in the last round. Not sure what's up there. Everybody that's here right now has a chance. Semi Finals coming up.........

Tjet Stock Semi Finals
Semi Final Race 1 Dueling GTO's. Nosub has the better reaction time but stumbles at the hit and can only watch Dave pull away from there. Dave632 is going to the Finals of Tjet Stock with a slowing but fast 1.248et to 1.461et.
Semi Final Race 2 Kstock's little mule gets out on the goat to the 60' and then starts to slow. HC's GTO has shown it's top end power all day and does it again. Hairy Canary is going to the Finals to meet Dave632. 1.352et to 1.469et.
