Have any of you ever made ebay purchases direct from vendors in China? Saw an auction for the Snake and Mongoose haulers with cars for $7.99 with free shipping. Seller was in China so I let it pass. Don't know it its true but have heard that purchases from China end up with some sort of import fees, VATs, surcharges etc. Curious what the truth is. I've ordered items off ebay from China a few times and never had an issue of any kind, like added fees and such. Delivery averages 2 to 3 weeks. I think they're having some celebration this time of year so it could take longer ? ? ? It's only been small electronic type items that I've ordered.

LED lighting...small screws...washers...etc. It takes a long time to get stuff, but I always get it.

It's good to know that you guys have had some positive transactions with China. Maybe I'll give it a try next time.

I never had any of the small items taxed but I would imagine large items would be taxed as Al said. Shipping can take a long time, in some cases 2 months, so if you are in a hurry this is not the way to go. I don't know how they ship so cheap but it has been free in many cases.
