Pontiac GTO best 60' time here @ 14v .2160, can you beat it? Some of the SC cars could beat that. If you move the decimal point one place to the right.

The Chevelle and Plymouth gassers were in the .13-.14 60' range.

Thanks Vince, Jeff and Dave on your in put on the OS3 magnets. I couldn't find any where if they are ceramic or what ? They are pretty close to the same strength as the ceramics I have. Just by checking them on my Harbor Freight gram scale. I think the advantage is they match up better ? I think they only make them for the non MT chassis ?
Thanks Rick

Thanks Rick I had considered asking about them a few weeks back but found an outlet for dash magnets and went with those.
IMHO I hope they get considered in the rules as an alternative for ceramic on down the road. They come in 4 different strengths and appear they would be easy to police. In all my searches for ceramic magnets, they seemed hard to find and when you did find some, taking out a second mortgage wasn't a valid option for me . Will be anxious to see how yours perform at the race, Rick.

According to the advertisement the OS3 Dragon magnets are similar in strength to Dash ceramics which would make them legal for any class that requires Ceramic magnets. The Dash magnets are slightly less in cost and I use them a lot. Almost every one of my cars with the T jet or early AFX chassis have them. Until you get into very low ohm armatures, 1-2 ohm, the Dash Ceramic magnets are good enough. Then I use the Poly magnets. So far I have not found a use for the Neo magnets in these cars even with 1 ohm armatures. Just too strong, they kill the top speed of the cars with them in it. You might get a great 60' with them but a real slug after that. As a side note the Dash ceramics used to be 2.00 a pair, they are now 3.00 which is still not bad. Another thing I wanted to mention is that the later AFX Magnetraction magnets match Dash magnets for strength closely. Even though the Magnetraction magnets are larger they give about the same gauss reading on my meter leveling the playing field when racing the early vs late AFX style cars.

According to the info that Gale has provided, the ones that compare to the Dash magnets are the White Dragons which are the third of 4 levels available. The Black Dragons are advertised as strong as the strongest available and are the top level. The Red Dragons are the first level and they are advertised for Stock Classes. Rick has compared his to some magnets he has and they were the same. I am allowing them, but we may need to look into these further. Black Dragons would be questionable for sure for Stock Classes. White Dragons would be borderline. I'm counting on the low voltage being the factor that takes away most of the advantage of the stronger magnets. I gotta have some though. They have a home somewhere

**ATTENTION** **ATTENTION**Winter Nationals update
There has been a slight change in my schedule. I will not be qualifying any cars until after 3pm on Thursday March 28. So any cars that show up on Thursday will not be late. I had originally planned on starting the racing on Thursday morning and wanted cars here before then. Everyone has one extra day to get cars here.....but please don't push it and don't trust "next day" anything. As a consequence of the slight schedule change, the racing action will continue into Sunday . It's going to be a great event. Thank you to all that have entered the 6th NTRA Winter Nationals at Bear Creek Dragway.

Jeff put me in for two gassers and two t-jets. I have a KIWI challenge car on standby if needed also. Blue Silk and Purple Haze will also show. Vince your cars showed up today safe and sound as well. I almost have the LED gantry's done for you. So they will be going back with your cars. I know you weren't in a hurry, but I appreciate your patience anyway. Glad you are in the event, you and your cars have been to all or almost all of my events over the years. Thanks and good luck.

The New Zealand cars made it here today. All of the International racers are in the house. Lots of space still in the pits.

2019 NTRA Winter Nationals
One week away from raceday! Everybody should be thinking about shipping soon at this point. We already have 5 early bird race teams in the house. I will not start unpacking anything till next week. The track is in great condition and ready. I did some test hits at the different voltages and appropriate cars last night. The Stock Tjets are going to be a blast at 14v. We have two 16 car fields if all of the cars show up and 18.....yes 18 Kiwi Challenge! The Challenge is becoming an event all by itself. I also have an announcement..... Rick Williamson aka Hairy Canary has created a Kiwi Challenge trophy that will be passed back and forth to the Winning Challenge Team at this and future Challenges. This is extremely cool!! Nothing less than a work of art!!I want to thank Rick and Gale for contributing their artwork to this event!!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
