Did some T jet testing at 14 volts and was surprised that the cars did not all slow down the same way. Seems some cars
run better at certain voltages. I was also surprised that I had 6 cars that fit the rules for that class. We must have run them
in the past at times.

When I first joined the forum Stock Tjets were always run at 13.8v. It's a lot of fun in person because the lead can change 3 or 4 times in a single drag race when two cars are closely matched. I try to run some classes that don't get run very much when I can. I also like to see the custom builds so I try to incorporate that into the races as well. Looking back at some of the races I was surprised at some of the ET's that were run at that lower voltage. Some of those guys built some 13.8v rocketships. My experience with Tjets at low volts was inconsistency. The electrical path seems to be much more critical and temperamental.

LOL, yes, tuning for lower voltages presents it's own challenge. and, it can still teach us lessons that help with all builds. I like seeing side by side racing. get er done

Jeff, we run all classes at 24 volts. our builds determine difference in speed. we have a 100% stock t-jet class. everything original including wheels and tires. they have to be driven, not just hammer down. but, I have run some NITRO proxy races at 13.8. always good passes and usually close finishes

I may be thinking of the proxy races then. I'm running it for a little forum nostalgia. A salute to races past at tracks like Lions Dragway. Rick V. ran Tjet Stock at 13.8v many times. I miss his races and his attention to detail....from rules to commentary.

I have seen some stock skinny tired tjets that ran 1.80's and better. I run 20v on my home 1/8 sectional track. My buddies like the 20v overall, but we run 4 lane track and 2 lane drag. I have not tried it at 13.8v, but I will do that in the near future, just to see...

For those who may wonder, I have had stock tjets running .885 @ 9 mph on my 1/8, a fast inline Viper car that my friend has runs high .3's @ 26 mph. Not bad for 10' of track! I wish I had more room....

I have been preparing some stock T jets for sale and the best ones hit only 5 mph in the .2s on 15.5' so 9 mph is very fast for a stocker. Room is always a problem, wish I had more to.
