Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr My cars left this morning. They are supposed to be there by Wednesday ?? I thought I had another week to start toooning. My PSO Vicious Vette wont make it or the Red Blown Hell Vette (pancake comp) pictured isn't making the trip either. My last minute Toooning turned into Looney Tooning and goofed them up pretty bad. Had some big idea I wanted to try turned real bad. So for my Pancake Comp I sent a 4 gear. I hope it can hang with the faster T-Jets and MT cars ? Plus my 4GO and 2 inline stock cars. Good Luck To everyone this weekend ! Rick

Rick I also have had some ideas that did not work out to well. Hope the cars make it in time we still have a few days left. Mazda's cars finally made it from the Post office, seems it took longer to make it from the PO than it did from England. Mazda's Spring Nats entries

Rick, with all of the problems during your Looney Tooning, I have to wonder if you're buying parts from ACME?
I hate that you're having problems but it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one. Some of the great ideas I had were better at making smoke than speed.
That reminds me, I better warn Dave that the Unlimted entry I sent in likes to keep kicking one of its shoes off. It seem like every time I pick it up one shoe and spring fell off. The crazy part is, I was able to find them every time. Most of the time, once parts hit the floor, they're gone for good. It's like a black hole.
What is it with the Super G+ and dirivitives that the shoes come off so easy? Any fixes?
Bill

I have bought some parts from ACME HO speed but they keep blowing up. I also think every one of us has tried some change we thought would help and it has slowed the car down not sped it up. The bad part is you put it back the way it was and it is slower than before??? Cant figure it.
Super G+ losing shoes and subsequently the spring. I bend the tab on the back of the shoe up a little bit. That usually stops
it. Some times I have to give it a second bend.

Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Yea Bill and Dave I order from the same catalog. In my case its not bad parts but a bad tooner/operator. I'm so afraid to do anything to a car that's running good. Like Dave said it always seems to make it slower. I hadn't done anything no oil nothing to The Aces Wild in the last 3 races. Alls I did is put very little oil on the rear axle and it slowed. So I figured what the heck I might as well go a head and really Dee-Toooon it. Cleaned and oiled it put it back together and lost .030 These little things can be very irritating. Rick

I have my theories on why performance drops off after cleaning, etc. On pancake cars I think it is in the brushes and the top plate position is where the problem happens. But nothing I can prove. I'm with Rick....sometimes I'm afraid to touch a car that's running well. I had limited time to spend on my cars this time, but the time I did have was totally unproductive. Cars did not respond positively....but they did negatively . Spun a crown on my Super Stock and tried to repair it twice. I guess it didn't want to make the trip and it didn't. Still looking forward to all the racing action this weekend! Good luck everybody!

I guess we are all subject to racing Gremlins, the little devils. My PSO did not respond well to the body change which made the Nomad happy. See I told you not to do it.

Some really nice looking cars being entered. I will take some closer photos of the cars during eliminations. Rick I am looking for one of those rockets that Wile E Coyote is racing, then I can really make a big boom.

Dave these guys found Wiley Coyote’s Rocket. The Rockets are the last two to race. I hope I did the link right ?

I had seen that before, very nicely done. How did he get the rocket cars to ignite at almost the same time? Surprised that the ET and MPH were so slow.
