I decided to put together a motorized armature rewinder as the task of rewinding to me was one I dreaded. The device is powered by a small geared down N20 motor coupled to the arm drive by a driveshaft with a universal joint. I can vary the speed and polarity as It is powered by a 10 amp variable power supply. The toughest part was the counter and how to get it working. I used a small electrical counter activated by a plastic strip mounted to the arm holder. I should now be able to wind a motor in short order. Incidentally a stock 14 ohm arm has about 390 turns of #40 wire on it. I unwound one to find that out. Rewinder motor side

Most likely something that will explode 3 Stooges style.

Rube would be proud! I have two grandchildren who regularly compete in Rube Goldberg competitions.

I have yet to try it out. Seems to work pretty good in tests.

This is the stuff I love to see. Pretty awesome! Will you be winding for yourself only or will some be available to purchase?

I will have to try and wind some and see how it goes. If all goes well I will do some winding for others.
