This has nothing to do with HO drag racing but I will be off the board for about 10 days. Going to Las Vegas to play in a Masters pool tournament. I do not gamble so I will lose nothing on the slots, etc. It is a team event and there are 4 of us. We play all year for the right to represent our area and we won again this year. Most of the trip is paid for but it still costs a lot to eat there, (Westgate hotel), and the food is lousy. Our team finished 17th last year out of 256 so we finished in the money. First prize is 10,000 but there are a lot of good players out there, many at the Pro level. We have a good team, one of our players recently won the senior division at the Super Billiard Expo with 380 players and my son is a top notch amateur. I am very good as the go fer.  Wish me luck we will need it, did not have much of that last year. |

Good Luck Dave! Enjoy, chill & relax! Hope you have time to walk the strip and enjoy some of the street musicians. Always my favorite thing to do while there  |

Thanks Gale. I spend most of my time on the tables. There are hundreds of them spread all throughout the Casino along with many small tournaments going on besides the big ones.  Pool Championship

Thanks Pete. Will let all know how we do there, it seems to get tougher every year as the tournament gets more popular. Used to allow 2 teams from our area to go but not any more.

Just returned from the Vegas pool tournament. Unfortunately we had our worst year ever finishing 97th out of 256. Personally I was not missing shots but we started to play at 8am and my head was not on straight at that time and I was missing position and not playing smart.
One of our top players had the same problem and he had the worst performance that I have ever seen from him, this is the guy who recently won a tournament with 380 players. Anyway we had a week of pool and my son did win one of the smaller tournaments for top level amateur players and I made the semis of one.
