Sounds like fun, Al. I hope I can make it. My tracks are both down completely until my basement is finished. Its a sad story of a waterproofing contractor screwing me, this was supposed to be done and finished a month ago. We will see. They screwed up some plumbing and I have issues with ground water...
Normally, I start tuning cars for a race in August. Not this year.

Well, the way it looks now, the contractor will have to tear up some of the work that they did, that means busting up concrete and repairs, then new cement in place. Then, its like 15 days until I can replace my workbenches, clean, and paint AGAIN. So, here we are in mid September, I have no basement available for me to tech and tune a dang car... dont count me in for this race, its anyones guess at this time. Jess

thanks guys. I am a little disappointed, but it's all good. making this decision, with Hank's help, was the only wise thing to do. with only 2 other people interested, it is just not worth the effort of setting up and breaking down never the less running the event all day. I have enough room in my house to host 5 guys and run on my 1/8 mile. thanks for thinking of me and sorry I won't have results to share.

Hello Al and followeres..... Sorry to hear of the decision to not hold the race. I understand, if there are no racers, you cannot sustain the race costs, and you shouldnt have to.
I have attended 3 or 4 of these events, its always been interesting and always a challenge. Nothing is really easy when it comes to racing slot cars, but it is a lot of fun. Hopefully sometime in the future things will change a bit and interest will return.
There are 2 tracks close to me, neither one is running an HO program at this time, nor did they last year. These guys run bracket racing, some like it some dont. I prefer heads up in a stock or semi stock class with rules. I find it more challenging that I do frustrating, as my reaction times are sometimes spotty, especially when I get a little tired as the day goes on.
Al, if you and anyone else with in driving distance of Shamokin, Pennsylvania cares to some and do some casual drag racing some Saturday, I would be happy to open my home for some racing. I have a small group of loyal guys who come, their interests vary. Some like the tjets in stock, and some prefer inlines.. So Al, I will have to call you when I get stuff done here. Thanks for trying.
