thanks guys. exactly the opinion/advice I am looking for. I have made decals before, but no in years. if I am going to invest, I want to do it wisely. my geek friend warned that scanning at 2400 X 2400 will make big files that eat up a lot of storage space. I will be prepared for that also. If your graphics software has the option, you can rasterize the graphic (scanned image) and it will reduce it's size significantly without reducing its resolution.
