Can somebody explain to me why T jets are so popular now? I bought about 11 bare chassis to assemble recently as I had
a lot of old parts to use up. They sell like crazy. I don't understand, they are slow, inconsistent and handle like garbage without
traction magnets. Must be a lot of nostalgia going on out there?

Go figure. I can now buy Tuff Ones cars and chassis cheaper than standard T-Jets. My collection of TOs is growing! People are paying mad $$$ to build up a standard T-Jet stable. Not sure if it is nostalgia or just collecting fever.

FRAY and ECHORR are very popular and use stock chassis and armatures. built by professionals, these can cost in excess of $150.00. of course all other parts are after market and expensive as well.

It seems that prices HO stuff in general have increased a lot lately, TJet chassis’ possibly more so.
For my money, Dash gives you much more bang for the buck than the original Aurora TJets. Even Auto World and Johnny Lightning occasionally turn out a gem. With all the alternatives available, the inflated TJet prices make little sense.

It seems that prices HO stuff in general have increased a lot lately, . . . . . . . . I've noticed that also. Makes ya dizzy . I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday getting some clay and noticed the retail on a few AW cars, 2 to 3 dollars cheaper than anything I've seen on ebay lately. A 4gear modern funny car and a barn find tjet 71 Challenger are the only 2 that I remember. Seems like just a year or so ago, H.L. was a couple bucks more than any on ebay. Crazy stuff!

Plus you can use your 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby!👍. That makes the AW cars downright reasonable.

I am very jealous I wish we had shops that sold any HO slot cars. Just so you know, Clive. It's not all that prevalent around here, really. I go to Hobby Lobby, on the average, once every couple of months for other needs and just look around while I'm there. I think the most HO slot cars I've ever seen there is 5 or 6. I've never purchased any there. Heck, I haven't purchased a slot car over the counter since the slot track closed here about 15 years ago . At present, I'm pretty content to purchase my slot cars & parts from Jag Hobbies, HC Slots, Lucky Bob's, Ebay and few other on line vendors. There is a mom & pop type hobby shop near by that carry a few slot cars. HO and 1/32nd. Most of their revenue comes from RC so the slot cars are real pricey. But they do carry a lot of really cool stuff and I'm fortunate they are still there. I enjoy going there, reminds me of the good ol' days .

Not sure if they ship to the UK but Hobby Lobby sells slot cars on line. Do Jag, Lucky Bob or HC Slots ship to the UK?

As far as performance goes I find little difference between original Aurora, Dash, or the JL/AW T jet style chassis. Both of the T jet style cars I will be sending to Jeff's race are of the AW type. I have to say the AW gear plate is a little sloppier than the others. I think it is collectors who are driving up T jet prices for some reason or another. I have seen new old stock T jet chassis selling for 49.00?? on E bay. I was invited to participate in Fray racing once but I have no desire to race in some nit picking roundy round style racing. Drag racing has always been my favorite. Clive I have only seen a few HO cars for sale locally in recent years. There are literally hundreds of them for sale on E bay which is where I buy about 99% of any I want.

I'm sure it is the collectors that are driving up the prices. I don't have enough money or know the right people to get in on any deals that are ever out there. By the time I hear of anything, somebody with deep pockets has already hoarded all of it. I think the AW chassis are the least quality, but I have had several of them that were very fast. I think at this point I personally prefer the DASH, but those can sometimes be hard to get. In the end, I get what is available and what my budget can afford. They will all win races.

I am a happy boy. I have just won two original tjet cars on eBay uk they are a Corvette Stingray and a Cobra. Strangely no one else bid on them as they look to be in great condition. Can’t wait to get them to play with. They were from a U.K. seller and work out cheaper than one car from the States. I will be using a Dash chassis for the Bear Creek race.
