An other note on the max track is that the rails provide more down force. Much more than Aurora, AW, Tomy and Tyco. Just a note to consider.

Well, unless I manage to break or blow up another car, this will be my entries in Dave's race. A couple days ago I got in a hurry and sent a car down the track without removing the one that had just ran . Busted the body mounts right out of my little yellow Cooper body, so rather than fix the mounts, I opted to replace the body. Oh well.
Still have a week + to tune so things could change .

JJ Its called a Correx tension gauge. I looks like a surface gauge. You press down on the shoe and when see it begin to depress, stop. It has a arm that will remain, record, at the gram reference. You can get a digital one that uses a gram scale, couple of people make and sell them. Do a search for VRP HO. Dave Vickers I think is his name. You can see one on his site. The correx is old school. Because of the extra down force is why you want more tension. To much isn't good either, the car will lift off the rail. Just like your rear tires you want the shoes planted.

Dave; trying to get my entries dialed in weight wise. From my understanding of the rules, they are as follows.
Stock & Super Stock = 21 grams 2.5 Pro Mod = 23 grams Unlimited = N/A Index = N/A PSO & 4GO = 25 grams
Could you please verify? Thanks! I am going by memory here. Also have no fear I will not take any car out because of weight as long as you have a plastic or resin body. I also have some poster putty if it is way under. Stock, SS, PSO and Pro Mod will be 21. Only 4GO is at 25 due to some heavy resin bodies being used. Your crew looks good, sorry to hear about the wreck.

I have been real busy making my new double flange narrow wheels for racers, thank you for that. However JJ that MOPAR slow just kidding ain't gonna fly. That made me put my beer down and go dig out some of my old tried cars. So enter me in the race Dave with the following. Neon MOPAR in your 2.5 class (BSRT chassis, Eagle body) Little Red Mustang 2.5 class (Eagle chassis, Eagle body) Ford Hot Rod in your Super Stock Class (BSRT chassis, Eagle body)Now I gotta go tune these puppies cause they are all slow. Except the MOPAR....

Welcome to the race Eagle, good luck at the event. That Mopar has seen Smoky Mountain before. Sounds like a little trash talking has begun which is OK just keep it on a fun basis.
I blew up one of my Unlimiteds in testing, first of the BSRT armatures to fail. Commutator still good however.
Less than 2 weeks to the race. Time to start finalizing your race tune. Anyone noticing the dates on the race calendar of 5/29-5/31/20 please disregard those dates, they were put in by mistake.
Qualifying will start Friday 5/22/20.
This is my biggest race ever with 85 entries so try and get your cars here by Thursday 5/21.

Wow, looks like the Mustang took a shot, did it fly off the track? One of the cars I was testing for the race had the axle/crown gear installed backwards causing the car to reverse into the wall. Even though I had a small cushion and the wall was only a few inches away this was an Unlimited and it hit the wall hard, chassis survived without damage however. yeah, I've done that more than once and usually with a very high powered car. sometimes standing right behind the car too. 1/24 scale cars can really hurt, not that 1/64 don't.
