Got all fired up to do some resin casting today. Unfortunately part B of the resin product had jelled up pretty bad. Tried mixing it up but doesn’t look like it salvageable. Thought I’d get some at Hobby Lobby but the stores are closed in S.C. Considered non essential . What brands and sources would you guys recommend?

for the most part I have used resin supplies from MicroMark successfully. they have pretty quick shipping and a variety of mold materials along with different resins. I prefer one to one by volume resins.
there certainly are other options that many folks use wonderfully.

I use the "Smooth On" products as Jeff suggested in this post here. I don't have anything to compare them to but have been very satisfied. Their web site link . Also I see they have a full line distributor in Charlotte, NC, as far as shipping goes, I think it might be your closest.

I have a couple of Smooth On mold making kits which have been on the shelf a few years. Hopefully they’re still ok. Almost afraid to look.
Thanks for the advice on the resin. Will have to check both of them out.

Bill, my experience has been only a few months shelf life for both the silicone and resin. even factory sealed. I have thrown more away than I car to admit.

Will have to check both of them out. Al is correct.....the Smooth On products have a shelf life. If those casting kits are years old, they are likely not any good now. Mold material does better than the resin though.

Kinda takes the the wind right out of your sails Broke factory seals and found pink product solidified in both kits. That's about $50 down the drain. The high price of procrastination.

If not for the shutdown, I would have difficulty finding or making time for it. You see the results of that. Perhaps once I venture into retirement....
