Well, the boys and I loaded up in the Delorean and went back to 1967 Where we found a Southeast Gassers event. A field of old school 4 speed full bodied gassers. They put on one heck of a good show!
The grandsons really loved it. If you ever get a chance to attend a Southeast Gassers event, don’t pass it up! Warning ⚠️ it may be addictive, especially for you recovering drag racers.

I'll bet that was fun! Glad your grandson's were able to enjoy that! I get on a utube gasser binge every once in a while, miss that action.

One really cool thing is that we found that one of the competitors, The Patriot, was driven and crewed by some long time family friends. The driver’s younger brother was in church youth group with my son. The older brother/crew chief/engine builder was one of his youth group leaders. Check out this photo of the wheels up launches. The red Falcon actually dragged the rear bumper for quite a distance. We have some videos of them too but haven’t figured out how to post them yet. If you guys can guide me through the process, I’ll post them. Attachments:IMG_1024.MP4 (781.08 KB)

One of my favorites, the Alley Cat II 57 Vette may look familiar. Hairy Canary was gracious enough to send me a 57 Vette body that I did up to replicate the Alley Cat. Chick Magnet 55 was a crowd favorite. Gray Willys looking gasser is actually a 41 Studebaker.

Very Cool Bill. I bet your grandsons had a ball. Gasser’s are one of my favorite cars to watch next to Fuel Altered’s😁 Looks like a good turn out. And some night racing to boot. Really cool pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Grandsons loved it! Show crowd broke a record.
Dave & Rick be forewarned that several current SEGA racers attended an event, after years of being inactive on the track, got the bug and built they’re own gassers.😎 If you do perhaps some of us could crew for you.

Bill no doubt I could still build one and it would be fun having some of you guys crew for me but I also remember the 1000+ or so a month in expenses for upkeep and race fees not counting the trailer, tow truck etc. needed which I no longer have. I also remember busting 4 Speeds when power shifting them, ouch. Retired now and my income surely is not what it once was. I will have to be satisfied with racing these cars with my friends here on Nitro Slots which I do have fun with.

Having a Nitro Slots full size race car is pretty much a pipe dream but it is fun to dream! Maybe we could get Super Tires and Jag to sponsor us. I know the SEGA rules are designed to keep costs down. Out of curiosity, I'll have to ask my friends how costly it is. Pretty sure they are not independently wealthy. On a side note, I was thinking it would be pretty cool to set up a tent with an HO dragstrip at one of the gasser events. Kids of all ages would probably get into that.

Skillet - I drive a 2010 Dodge Challenger but it could not even get within 1/2 the track of the cars I raced in the past. Bill- I had considered buying a track that Al had for sale to take to various events and set up. I agree it would attract a crowd. Finistauri ended up with that nice 57 Chevy I bought from you, he has it entered in the PSO shark pool.
