Bill I laughed at the, "Index racing is the only use I found for super 3s". I cannot say what I would have tried in that class. Keeping it a guessing game made for a fun race, but some of you figured it out pretty well, with a bunch of runs in the 1.0 range and the final really getting it right on.

What I can tell about is the chassis I used in Unlimited. It is a BSRT G3 with neo motor magnets, poly traction magnets and sub 1 ohm arm, sili foams which are a must. The arms are near impossible to get right now. The green 55 Chevy has a 5 year old arm that has survived 100+ runs over 50 MPH. Some of the much more recent BSRT arms I purchased died after a few passes. I recently replaced the endbell in the 55 where the original brushes were worn to a nub and it ran a little better but not much. Rest of it is pretty much normal G3. Even the bodies are regular AFX/AW plastic. Did not find weight to have much effect on these as one with a lexan body did not perform any better.

After trying a bunch of different cars that one Super III was real close to 1.0 and fairly consistent. A Lifelike car was close too. Rear tires were slipping a lot, which would probably make consistency difficult. The other Super III Mustang was faster and had to be detuned to get it above 1.0. Somehow it managed to have one fast run during qualifying.

Tough to get the cars to be consistent when you are slipping and sliding down the track. Seems the cars have a mind of their own anyway with them getting faster when they needed to as happened with many of the runs and especially the finals.
