ragu again let me start by saying hello to all i forgot to do that last time sorry i want to set up a 1/4 mile track first i need to find space don't think it will be a problem should i think wood or plastic?

Ragu, Welcome to the board!!! if space isn't a problem... think wood, or formica.. and I"m sure there is something better out there that Sam or someone from Psychoslots will give you info on.. Wood type is preferable for most permanent tracks.. smoother, no seams and no dips from warping like you could get with plastic sections. Routed track is alittle more work to build,, but well worth it. You would be surprised at what a slightly mis aligned joint on a plastic track can do to one of these cars. Get all the info from Sam or one of the other members before you designate a space as well, you have to consider shut down area as well.. some of us used to use foam or whatever we could get for shut down in a box, DEAD stop, if it worked.. it's better to have some track to shut down in than a foam wall..
