I found out last night that 79Malibu ... John McElhaney also known as Mac at my live races passed in October. while he wasn't always a regular, he was always welcome and a lot of fun. he is missed already and this is just polite way to let everyone know that one of ours is no longer with us. RIP Mac

Its a bummer to hear about Mac. He was a good guy and a good racer. We competed on several different venues. He will be missed!

You guys will be glad to hear that Mac's cars are leading in the 1st John Mcelhaney Sr. Memorial Series at DeVille international Dragway in Green Bay, WI. It has 2 more rounds to go,next Sunday. It's been a 16 round 16 car series over a 9 week period. Mac's cars had already been shipped to Green Bay when he passed. It's a orig. MagnaTraction class with mean green arms and level 7 poly motor mags. No braids and no wheelie bars. All races are run at 30 volts. Dave dosen't have the timing system installed yet, so it's old fashioned first to the 1/4 mi. lights. It's fun, it's exciting and it's in Mac's honor. I didn't know Mac, I remember 79malibu from this forum and learned yesterday that he was a member here. I'm from NJ also, so I feel a kinship to Mac. Mike Marvin

I’m sad to hear Mac’s passing. My condolences go out to his family. He will be truly missed. I remember a lot of years ago he got some bodies from me but he was having trouble with his hands if I remember right. He asked if I would prep the bodies for him and he was highly appreciative. RIP Mac

Sorry to hear about Macs passing. May he rest in peace. I had built a couple of chassis for Mac in the past and he was always a good guy to deal with.
