Thanks Gale, I think I will do that for all the classes before the race as it will show the cars better.

This race is coming up fast. Everyone ready? Today Im getting the 2.5 race ready as best I can. My two Super stocks are ready. I call the one Float like a Butterfly, Sting like a Bee is the second. Pure stock will be interesting being the first time. Im sending a Tyco but will be testing with a Life Like for future races.

Like Pete said, one month before the race starts and as we all know time waits for no one.

The 3 gear Unlimited I'm building is taking up all of my tuning time. But it will be a car that I will be working with for quite awhile so I'm trying to get it all right. I'm hoping to get all my "chores" done early today and devote the rest of the day to some cars. Waaaaay behind on my castings as well. Pure Stock is going to be great with all of the different chassis! That was the whole idea for trying that Class! We will make it work. What other chassis are you running Eric? If you don't mind me asking?

Super Stock is Fusion chassis. I'll be using the endbell and for the first time my cars will be using braid. I think the 2.5 Ole Henry, witch I know is slow and that is a storm. The 2.5 is a quick class and as of yet I haven't unlocked its secrets to be competitive.

Made progress yesterday working on a SS and a 2.5. Carved .04 off of them. Feelin' good about that! I'm sure I'll manage to add that back on, plus, before I ship . Had fantasies about an unlimited inline but those are starting to fade but we'll see, haven't totally given up yet . Now that it has quit freezing at night it will free up time from monitoring seedlings in the greenhouse and that's huge!

I look forward to seeing the Storm run as well. I am weak on my Inline tuning and am still learning. I have always liked the Wizzard chassis. I have a Patriot and a Storm with minimal extra parts. Thanks for sharing.

Like I said still a month to go and there seems to be a lot of tuning action going on. I have been working on some pancake unlimiteds for myself and others with decent results. Tried a couple of my own hot winds which did better than expected. Will be running the first HO slot car body I ever got, (a gray 60 Vette), at this race in the Pancake class.

The braid really does something Eric. Ever since you sent me some I've been hooked. I'm trying a thundercat out in the 2.5 this time around.
You guys have any times for pure stock? I'm coming up with high .8's to over a 1. I'm leaning towards tyco or lifelike m car.

I had sparks on the shoes Sam. Took tension out of the spring and the car slowed. I put braids on and everything is working like it should. I think the first time I tryed, had to much of a solder patch. I did a much better solder job this time and they are working as advertised.

I have had many pure stock inlines of different types run in the .7s on my track. That would be the times I would look for. .8s may make the field but I would think that would be the 2nd half of the field.

.7's ha ha I used to think I had decent cars until I joined over here lmao. I love it. Guess I better pull some more cars off the shelf.
Two things that help me on the solder. Always hold the shoe upside down with a clamp as close to the work as you can get. That keeps solder from drifting into the contact patch area. The second is I do the sides of the window first. Then use a blade in the window to move any braid that may become a blocker, then finish it off. Your probably already doing this but that seems to be the secret to me.
