In case anyone is interested in trying out a life like "M" chasis in pure stock, Bad L hobbies has a fair variety at around $19.95 and a few as low as $14.95 I ordered a couple to give it a shot. If they don't work out. I have a small road course.

Sam, i see on there website they can start back racing in may. From the early 80's in through most of the 90's and also as late as 2016 I spent Thanksgiving weekends at the U S indoor chsmpionshhips at Cleveland racing onroad rc cars. Mostly 1/12 scale. This last Thanksgiving was the first time in 40 years they didn't hold that event. I always really enjoyed the atmosphere.

One of our friends that helped out there and ran the races said he's not going to do it anymore. So I don't know exactly how it will go now. We still have to separate the driver stations around the layout now before they will let us have races. They also are changing the store around for remote controlled cars.. they got the place next door and blew part of the wall out and set up a course.. so thats got the slot track on delay.. It's a hard job to commit running the races. Your looking at 2 days a week 5 hours each time. That's not even getting into dragracing there. Hopefully will get it all straight soon before the Rc trucks push us out of the store.

Ran RC back in the late 80s to early 90s. Traveled around to race with my sons, went to the US Nationals, ONCE, which was held in Detroit. Horrible track, poorly run race, lousy race coordinator, people, and you can keep Detroit. Our events here are pure gold compared to that.

Locally and Regionally the racing was good, our track held a large race once a year with racers from all over the country coming in. Got so we had to limit the amount to 250 because of the racers wanting to compete. The worst race by far was the one in Detroit.

Just curious, on road or off road? I have raced on road carpet several times in Detroit and Grand Rapids. Always first class. Uaually stock with sealed handout motors. This was before brushless and lipo's.

Off road Nationals. 2WD & 4WD modified. This was with brush's and using those garbage Ni Cads. They did not have a clay base on the track, pretty much running in sand. That was just one of the problems. Those running the event were useless. Bad experience.

Some of those clowns that ran that race came to our big race in Fla. where I was one of the officials. I sure gave them the cold shoulder.

I am sure there are some good race directors/events in those areas. That one was just the worst RC racing experience we ever had.

About three weeks ago,I bought 2 life like M cars for pure stock. I already had one for super stock. I was making progress on regular basis. Friday i had my best run ever with one of the cars, the other one had split the crown gear a week ago. It rained all day yesterday so i had a lot of time to spend in the garage. As i continued to experiment things started to go south. I now have two pure stockers that are not as quick as they were out of the box. Pretty much the same results with the super stocker. Time to take a break, while i order some new brushes and tiny little springs (lots of them on my shop floor somewhere).

Every one of us has been able to slow down a car that was running good.
