Thought some of you might get a kick out of this video. It's a drag strip somewhere in Brazil and I thought the shut down mighta' been a wee bit short .

I am not sure if the drivers are extremely brave or just mad

The driver got out of the car laughing and commenting that he had no brakes and had to throw it into 1st gear. I get the feeling he's done this before, and probably wasn't the first. Very scenic view of the last part of the track with the trees and everything. Thanks for posting.

I once drove 300 miles home with no clutch in my 68 beetle. All you had to do was pull back on the shift into 2nd after pushing to get it rolling, then push shift out and pull it back into 4th. Toll booths, stop before it, pay, explain to the guy what is going on. May have been the first EZPass. Only thing EZ about it I was 18. Today I would call AAA.
How much dirt and stone would hot slicks pick up? can't be good.

Those slicks will pick up a lot of little stones.
Ok my old story. A friend had just put a clutch setup in his 57 Chevy but it had no clutch linkage. He had to get it to a welding shop to get the clutch pin welded on. He did not know what to do so I drove it by starting it in first gear with the starter then just matching the rpms to the speed so I could shift thru the gears. He won some races with that 57 later on.
